Froy, I'd be up for it........but it doesn't really matter what you , or I or anyone outside of the band thinks....I havent heard where Dennis and anyone in the band have even spoken to each other since 1999.
I dont even allow the thought to enter my head until/unless I hear that Dennis has talked to Tommy or J.Y.
I'd like to suppose a hypothetical question......let's say the temperature in hell reaches a record low, and discussions for the reunion take place....
who tells Gowan he's out, and how does that conversation go ???
TS......Uh, Larry, got a second ???
LG......Sure Tommy, what's up ?
TS.....thanks for the last 5 years , it's been alot of fun, but........

Your out See Ya,
LG OH man its back to my solo carreer.
TS Yea right
I was listening to some of Hunchback last night Esmerelda ect
I will tell ya Dennis's is the voice of Styx no doubt about it.
This current lineup has no voice and has run out of options.
I hope they end there game.,

Froy,
Honestly why would Dennis even consider coming back? He's doing fine right where he is. Other than for our own selfish reasons, there is no reason for a comeback. They've already done it before. We always have their classic albums to listen to and Dennis does his solo thing just fine. I really hate to say it, but let's just let this sleeping dog lie.

I am with Scott on this one. I like what Dennis is doing now.
His act is age-appropriate. He is not trying to be the young, long-haired "rocker" of 30 years ago. He still has an ageless voice, however, and I like the way he is using it.
His concerts are a great mix of the old and the new and done exactly right in my book.

I agree with both of you guys and I think Dennis is doing a perfect job with his solo career. But It just irks me that I have to see a cover band to enjoy Styx music . The Light UP band in December is going to be the first time I have heard Shaw and JY songs in 6 years, I think its time to fix STYX they should not go down in history like this
Thats my point

Well see, I don't think it could be "fixed", nor should it. Both parties have evolved separately. It's an awful lot of bad water to wash under the bridge, so to speak.
Trying to recapture something that was wonderful from our past very seldom, if ever, works out.
Now, having seen Light Up, and having heard this line up the band, I prefer Light UP, IMHO. I get to enjoy the collection of songs from Styx that I like, without all that I dislike about this lineup.
And I'm by no means saying not to go see this lineup if you like them. Enjoy.
Peace,
Sadie

Froy,
If you haven't listened to a TS or JY song in 6 years, how can you criticize what music they put out? This would also mean you never listened to any of the Brave New World album, an album which DDY definitely played on.
Do Tommy, JY and Chuck get any credit for the music they created while Dennis was here, or was Dennis a one man band that brought the others along for the ride when they did live shows?

I love coming here to read everyone's comments, most of you are very creative and funny.
I have a "feeling" that someday, let's say by summer of 2005, the paths of Dennis and Tommy will cross and they will both be at the same function. I also have a "feeling" that they will perform on the same stage together. I haven't heard anything from any source, this is just something I have a "feeling" about. Just my opinion.
JY is so bitter that I can't see him on stage ever with Dennis. He just can't let go of the bitterness.
When I see the band "Light Up", I feel like I'm going back in time listening to the Classic Line-up live. I've seen them several times and they sounded GREAT. Froy, you won't be disappointed.

Madame,
If this "feeling" of yours ever develops to include a specific date and time for this "chance meeting", you'll be sure to share your clairvoyant premonitions with the rest of us, won't you ?

You bet I well.
I've been very lucky this year with my "feelings" and good luck, Dennis & Styx related. I hope it goes into 2005

Gowan will know he is out when JY has a lawyer send him a letter letting him know "his services are no longer required".

It's possible that should this occur Gowan would most likely understand.
Actually, even though Dennis seems to being doing just fine on his own, I think he would consider returning to Styx if asked. However, there is always that issue of how much touring he would agree to. I am not sure that he would want to be on the road much more then he is now. Only he really knows though.

Maybe a little bit,but I justify it by only spending time on 2 message boards,
where some people spend time on 10.

Seems we are just plugging in new posters to the same ol', same ol'.
And, hell, Gr8. You should be thinking "old" every time someone brings up the subject "Styx." And I don't mean "old" with regards to subject matter (ok, maybe a little), but mostly "old" as in the age of the various participants in the entire Styx realm.

I am starting to believe that in the near future the touring issue will take care of itself and Dennis, JY and Tommy will all agree on about 30 to 40 dates per year in large cities populated by older Americans.
When colostomy bags are being launched up on stage at the band members ,and fans are having to leave before 8pm to get back to their nursing homes before the doors lock. Its time to cut down on tour dates.

Ah, I see. I didn't know it took a Neil Diamond thread to drag these up. There were some old threads that are just priceless, those were the days.

Awww, very sad.
The other day my family and I were on a road trip and every time a "classic rock" song came on they kept asking how old is the bandmembers now. Not one of them were under 50, most in their late 50's to late 60's. Sad that most of these bands aren't going to be around much longer or will have to be back at the nursing home before 8pm.
