Another Pride Of Lions question

Postby Journey/Survivor » Sun Aug 07, 2011 1:45 pm

As HUGE of a Survivor and Jim Peterik fan as I am, because of money problems, I have never bought any of the POL CD's. I currently have a little more money to spend. So, I'm going to try to buy some of the POL CD's.

Before I go ahead and order any of them, I would like some more background on the CD's themselves.

I guess based on one of my questions in another thread, that there are 3 studio POL CD's, and one live CD, correct?

Are there any versions that have bonus tracks? I would hate to order one particular CD, only to later find out that there was a bonus track on a different version of the album.

Is there anything that I should know about the POL CD's before I order them?

Oh. And Joe, I intend to try to find a copy of the first Mecca CD. I think you told me that it's out of print? Will I be able to find it on ebay or something like that?

If you are going to buy any of the POL cd's, just buy the first one. That's the only really good one. The second one is just ok. I don't think I've every heard the third.

I prefer the second one ("Destiny Stone"), but there are good tracks on both albums. I don't own the third one ("Roaring Of Dreams"), but the clips I heard from it sounded ok.
But if you're unsure which one you'll prefer, why not just look up the tracks on Youtube? Last time I checked, there were a bunch of them posted there. Then order the CD that has the most tracks that you like.

Oh, one other thing: For some reason, when I downloaded the albums from iTunes, the track names were completely screwed up. It listed the songs as "Henry The 8th I Am," "Now I'm A Believer," etc. I'm just letting you know so you don't panic and think you downloaded the wrong album-- the music is correct, just the titles are wrong. But maybe that's been fixed by now.

I still don't know if there are any bonus tracks on any of the POL CD's. Can any of you answer that for me?

Thanks!

I don't know of any bonus tracks, to be honest..don't know if they'd been ever reprinted, so to have extra stuff in.

However, the third studio album "roaring of dreams" is actually very good too. IMO, is probably their best.

Yeah, I never heard about any bonus tracks, either.

I don't remember all of what I heard from that album, but I do remember that I really liked "Heaven On Earth"-- very catchy song.

For me, none of the POL albums are as good as "Crossroads Moment," but that could be because I simply prefer JJ's voice. Don't get me wrong, Toby's got great ability, and plenty of people love his voice, but for whatever reason, I just prefer JJ. Also, the production quality on the POL CDs isn't as good as it is on CM, so that detracts from my enjoyment of it a bit.

Hi,there were Japanese bonus tracks on all studio albums these are:
S/T: Surrender To The Night,Stand By You,So Deadly
THE DESTINY STONE:Reckless Love
THE ROARING OF DREAMS:I Am My Father

The bonus tracks from S/T and The Destiny Stone featured on the second disc of the Live In Belgium 2 cd set.
Other recorded tracks are Black Ribbons,Dark Angel,Feels Like Another Planet, which are on the Belgium second disc too.
Kayla and Naked are two tracks that Andrew offered on compilations and pre-orders.(and bloody fine they are too)
Think this covers it all!!
