Very slight! Also if you read about the group, apparently their influences are gee you guessed it, Survivor!
Apparently, George Karak who wrote for Intruder, worked with Bon Jovi on their debut album?

Hhhmmm...funny you mention Bon Jovi, when I was listening to that song, it kind of reminded me a bit of that song "Only The Lonely" from 7800 Fahrenheit. Heck, now that I think about it, probably reminds me more of "Runaway".

Yes it does remind me of Runaway ! I wonder if FS heard this Intruder song? Is this copying common? Am I not aware of it?

Well, I know bands rip off guitar riffs from other bands all the time, but they do it in a way so as it's not completely a copy. They may "borrow" a bit of this and that to mold it into something new or different, but this is something different. Almost feels like the entire song has been copied and all that was changed were the lyrics. I know Kid Rock has sampled guitar riffs from Metallica and Lynyrd Skynyrd, but I'm sure he gave them credit and royalties.

It seems like the line has been blurred between "sampling" and "stealing". This case is stealing, plain and simple. I'm surprised no one has said more about it. While Jackie Don't Go wasn't a hit, Survivor did perform it on Solid Gold, so it's not like it's a rare track.

Did you listen to the song RED? Is it not completely ripped off? Is this kind of thing ok with you? Just curious to get board members feelings on this issue.

It's well beyond a ripoff, and I've been saying that since it came out in the late 90s. You could kill the lead vocal, and sing Jackie Don't Go over top of the music and never know the difference. That said, if it sold 500 copies, I'd be shocked. It didn't make a splash even then.
Return to Survivor / Jim Peterik / Toby Hitchcock / Pride Of Lions / Marc Scherer / Sir Jimi (RIP)
