Except they ARE 2/3 of the success of the Perry era. And they are still in the band, still working, still writing, recording, touring. They ARE the songwriting nucleus of Journey. There is nothing wrong with what they are saying. So you ARE taking umbridge to the fact they are omitting acknowledging there past in Press Releases concerning current and future plans of Journey.

I don't know why, but this just screams extreme ego to me. No colaborating with the lead singer (who is the one who's going to sing the songs)? I think I understand a little better.................because I just can't see them handing the 11 over to JSS.........here, do what you're told, sing these. God bless him, I sure hope Arnel's got somebody looking out for his interests.

I don't think Jeff would have said a fucking thing. It would be just plain dumb to do so. These are senior members of a megaband. Jeff and/or Arnel don't have any sort of background to warrant altering the creative lyrical input. Perry? Absolutely. :)

When Winds of Freedom was done, there was some give and take between Jeff and Cain-Friga. Jon was actually asking for Jeff to write a chorus. I would think Neal and Jon would definitely ask Jeff for his input, in that they both know he has an extensive background in writing songs, whereas I wouldn't think Arnel is even close to Soto.

Incidentally, Winds was written and exchanged via Mp3 and internet. Long distance songwriting...greeeaaattt.

Maybe because the song is absolute garbage?!?! And it's no fault of Jeff's either. It was a half-assed effort from the top down...Jeff being low man on the totem pole in that specific situation. 13, you have to be the only person on the planet that wants that song on a CD.

My personal opinion is that they sort of "framed" him on that song. Put something out there so bad that when word got out that they were releasing him everyone would be of the mindset "Well if that's what the new music was going to sound like it was probably a good decision to let him go." Here they intentionally put out a horrid song and fuckin' 13 has the bootleg in heavy rotation with other beauties like High on You, Beyond The Clouds, and Gone Crazy. Fuckin' goof.
