Like most Limbaugh fans, you sound like you have a real chip on your shoulder.

   You said the "N" word!!!! Doesn't matter that you weren't using it to describe someone directly -- white people aren't allowed to have the word proceed from our mouths in any fashion. It's verboten!!!

LOL!
No, its really not.
It's the public airwaves, and as a public citizen he is totally within his right to protest.
Nobody forced the advertisers to bail on Imus's show and for CBS radio to susbequently can him.

Irrelevant. I didn't even think he should've been suspended.

No, but that's irrelevant.

By the way, I have no chip on my shoulder at all -- I'm just being facetious as usual. But I'm about true, 100% equality -- equal rights to all people, and equal responsibility, too....

Totally relevant. You think Sharpton would get incensed over something he didn't stand to gain from? When was the last time Reverend Al stormed the streets to get Rap Music removed from the Public Airwaves, due to it's racist content?

Yet, you felt it relevant to include him in you defense of PC...

Are you saying that all of the advertisers that bailed on Imus (General Motors, Staples, American Express and Proctor & Gamble etc.) are devoid of free will?
Here I thought you guys were all about personal responsibility.
Can't have it both ways now.

This isn't about Sharpton or civil rights.
If Sharpton happened to find something offensive on the public airwaves, he is allowed to bitch.
Just like droves of people bitched after Janet Jackson's tit reveal during the Super Bowl.

Just as a point of fact, I believe Sharpton did lead some sort of protest against rap music shortly after the Imus incident, but again, who cares?

You mentioned the Don Imus incident (which Sharpton was an integral part of), not me.

I would argue that Senior Rokken has the least amount of chips on his shoulder than most everyone else here.

Thanks man, and you seem to catch me pretty well. I'm extremely loosely-wound, and pretty near impossible to offend -- especially by words of all things. I do get disgusted, but rarely offended, and it would have to be something that either affects someone close to me, or a blatant and serious false accusation to get me riled up. I just believe people ought to be secure in themselves and comfortable with their own shortcomings as well, because it doesn't do anyone any good at all to have an inflated sense of who they are or sweep their insecurities under a rug. Toward others, I try to see the best in people and encourage them, but it also does no good to sweep their stuff that needs to be addressed under a rug, or pretend it doesn't exist for fear of hurting their feelings.

I believe if the whole world would adopt these philosophies, it would inoculate us from things like the P.C. movement, and would also naturally bring an end to true racism, reverse discrimination, etc. Those things only exist while people care more about themselves than they do about the people around them, getting something for themselves at someone else's loss or expense, or using someone else's behavior as an excuse for their own. That starts from the heart of each individual -- not by some authority figure telling us what to think and say.

If you really want to fix these problems, you have to start with people's hearts. We live in a sick society that pushes us in the wrong direction from every angle, and promotes every wrong thing as being important or the cure to happiness. Plus, it's RULED by hypocrites who don't practice what they preach. They've even managed to make hypocrisy seem acceptable to protect themselves, so it's almost expected that people in authority get a free ride -- they are special, you know. Have to inoculate ourselves against it.
