Best JSS work vocally?

Postby Adikeo » Fri Sep 29, 2006 3:58 pm

I have the Soul Sirkus cd World Play but I would like to get another JSS cd... so those of you who own some, which ones do you recommend? I have looked in various music stores and not found any of his music so I'm thinking I'll have to get it online, unless anyone knows of a store that might carry them.

Check out samples on iTunes...2 of my 3 solo albums are there as well as a 'best of' which shows the softer side of the 3 albums. Otherwise the new Talisman album coming out in a month is a good one too, there's way too much to choose from so you're best to listen to samples before buying...hint, I happen to like Lost In The Translation, it's pretty 'rock'!

Hi Jeff, Loved Lost in Translation. But I have a newfound respect in Soul Sirkus after watching a lot of live videos on youtube. Man, you rock!

As Jeff says way to much to choose from. Go to his website to see an full discography.
Personally:

Talisman - Humanimal (but there is a best off cd)
Eyes - Eyes (80s rock)
JSS - Prism

If you do E-bay most of it is there to buy. Good luck

I'd definitely recommend Lost in Translation. That rarely leaves the CD player in my car.

You need Live at the Gods as well, either the CD or DVD (I have both) which is excellent!

I'll second that.

Also 'Genesis' by Talisman or their self titled CD.

I like the grittierness of the Deen World Play, though.

I've got "Lost in the Translation" and it is indeed an awesome album. I've also got all but one albums of his work with Axel Rudi Pell and three or four Talisman CDs, not to mention the first two Yngwie albums. Pretty good stuff, for the most part.

I bought both of the albums from iTunes (I'm an instant gratification kind-a girl, I can't wait for them to come in the mail) and I love them. Just a hint though, there are two versions of LITT, one has one more track than the other and costs more, but the "extra track" is appropriately titled "blank" and it is exactly what it says, 59 seconds of silence!!! So buy the cheaper one!!!!

Even though its very hard to pick our just ONE cd ,I think the BEST cd that I have with JSS (besides 7 thats not out yet) would be Talisman's Cats&Dogs,,, this cd has the best songwrittings of JSS and Marcel, amazing bass lines, and POWERFUL vocals by Jeff.
Best of all its has rock, hard rock, ballads all combined . A great buy in my opinion.
Also the Talisman DVD ( Worlds best kept secret) has some amzing live performance from Jeff from the Mondo Club in Stockholm, and the Sweden Rock Festival in Sovleborg. AMAZING ....

Ok, Ok, I caved and downloaded "Lost in Translation" and "Essential Ballads" off iTunes earlier today.
OMFG- I think it's time for me to pay more attention when Andrew raves about someone.
I've had the darn things for about 6 hours, and have been playing them non-stop. 8)

Fuckin' Soto..always writing nice.

Folks he can't come out and say it so I will.

Jeff's most shining moment is none other than Swallow That Load. He not only sings that song, but caresses and fondles the lyrics until you think you are living the song. I was so lost in the lyrics, imagining I was the "pitching" player in the song, I had to shake myself as I almost drove off the road.

Nice work, Soto; nice work. Trying to get it on my cell phone.

Also, Jeff's finest work you won't be able to ever hear was "Kicking Ass in Boston Mass."

I had never heard of JSS until Journey hired him. I just listened to clips of 5-6 of his songs-well-now i know why they hired him. He is incredible and Dean-o now i also know why you rave about him. However, he does not have the Journey sound- which is OK-I much prefer his own style especially with Neal on Soul Sirkus. Do you think Journey will now change some of their music style now that they have Jeff? I hope you understand what I am trying to say. I really enjoyed his singing when it was harder rock than with Journey's softer sound. He has that energy that SP used to have and maybe still does, but who knows! I am really looking forward to seeing JSS in Nov. :)

best ive heard from him is Soul sirkus probably because Neal has this ability to make others better the new talisman has 2-3 decent songs on it the rest is forgetable my guess is that if they do a journey cd either it will be so far from what journey is or, it will again be some of Jeffs best work
