Journey Ticket Prices

Postby Saint John » Sun Mar 30, 2008 3:27 am

I saw on the official board where tickets in Cincinnati range from $21.75 to $121.75 (lawn to pavillion I presume). Using the $121.75 as an example I would say that the breakdown is as follows:

$70 for Journey
$50 for Heart
$1.75 for Cheap Trick

Anyone think these tickets are a bit pricey? I think they're about $30 too much. I think $90 would have been a bit more appropriate all things considered. Any thoughts? Will this deter anyone from going? Personally, though I think they are a bit pricey I really don't give a shit. I blow money on far worse shit.

What's your promoter's cut? And how often does that venue sellout for rock shows?
Here in Little Rock tix are usually cheaper than elsewhere. But being a secondary market, we don't get many shows.

Obviously its just an opinion - but Cheap Trick are an honest band with some good shit in their catalogue and they do not deserve this shitty insult. I saw them support the CRUE in the uk and they blew them away big time. (not that it was hard).

I'm a huge Trick fan, and I think they're a more talented band than the Crue, but come on. They don't compare when it comes to live performance, energy, and power.

While I have nothing against Cheap Trick, we saw them with Def Leppard a few years ago and I was ready to hang myself from the rafters during the Cheap Trick show.

Honestly, and I'm being completely honest, I think it's one of the worst songs ever. I like "The Flame" by them...that's it. That dude whines during most songs. He sounds like a cat in a blender.

Now see Saint John, most folks I know went nutso mutso over The Flame upon it's release.
Not me, never cared for that one.
Truth be told they don't do much for me aside from Surrender.

ahahhaaha.. thanks ,, that paul lynde show was great!! if i ever was in a big band and was on a show where i
had to perform to the recoding like this or American band stand,, then i would keep screaming at the sound
guy and pointing to the monitor motioning up , knowing that nothing was really wired up... 8)

one of the requirments of playing guitar is turning around during a song and play with the amp knobs.. then look off to the side of the stage and shake your head at someone , because you cant get the right sound.. 8)

I was just looking at the prices for the Tahoe show July 12th: US $99.50 - US $199.50

There is no fucking way I'd pay that much to see Journey at this point!

Even as close as Verizon Wireless is to my house, I definitely won't be going if the tickets are anywhere near that much.

Not to mention it's worth it just for the people that come and hang out. The memories are priceless even if I think these prices are a bit steep. 8) Tom, are you going to Vegas...if so, where are you staying?
