He's a great singer, in fact he's in my top five favorite singers list. But I don't think he has ever had the range to cover Steve Perry's vocals?

Ditto. Sunstorm is a great album. JLT is very talented, that's for sure. Just a couple of weeks ago, I picked up Slaves & Masters, his one effort with Deep Purple. Very good, in my opinion. A little lighter than other Purple stuff, but good all the same.

Nothing but respect for Mr. Turner. I've seen him a few times and he rocks. The man also knows how to play the role of a "rockstar." "Strret Of Dreams" would have been a HUGE hit with the Journey musicians and name added to it. Bad ass song, nonetheless. 8) JLT is a cool motherfucker.

Do you have his solo album "Rescue You"? Awesome album. My other favorites with him are Malmsteen's "Odyssey" and Rainbow's "Straight Between the Eyes" and "Bent Out of Shape".

Don't have them, but I've certainly heard the material on them. The man was, and still is, a great performer with a great voice.

Kinda like Geoff Tate. I'd love to hear the demos (if any exist) of the work he did with Neal and Jon back in the day.
