i know ,,that story is just insane.. it really trips me out to hear that Schon is still referring to Perry like that , how they had that writing chemistry.. that was just so long ago.. hes looking for that magic but didnt even try out JSS with a slicker Cain type vibe,,

are these the demos that Schon was writing for JSS ???

JSS right on the money.

Hi Jeff, thanks for popping in.

You've got wicked talent and I know you're going global. Actually you already have.

I'm not sure if you auditioned for Queen but heard the song you did "Somebody To Love" and was floored.

As much as I like Paul Rogers and BadCo., you do that music so much more justice.

Keep aiming for the stars dude.

This is from Jeremey's blog....

"Schon would basically confirm this fear later in the month, through an anonymous post on another message board titled “Do you want to know why Jeremey didn’t get the job?"

I'd love to find this other "message board" and read his rationale for passing up on Jeremey.
I know it wasn't on here, or the Noticeboard.

Hey, Jeremy! I'm both happy and sad you didn't get the gig. Happy for you and sad for them. Really sad they let JSS go, as he is my favorite vocalist of all time (still kicking myself that I didn't know about the Ft. Worth gig until 4pm the day of). Was also sorry that they treated Augeri the way they did.

Bubble or not, those guys need to realize that times have changed, and most of any band's hardcore fan base are online and communicating with each other. Smarter artists are reaching out and connecting with their fans in a way they weren't able to before. All they need to do is see what people are saying and thinking, and if they care at all, consider those things when they make those decisions. I'm having a hard time finding any Journey threads at all that are positive -- tons of backlash here, and it's understandable.

I don't think being in a bubble is any excuse for not being a decent human being to others. Schon and Cain, from what I read, operate on with junior high clique level of mentality.

It was here, just a sentence or two that was removed from the board after about 10 minutes. I was amazed I was actually logged on here when it appeared. I know several people from the annex saw it and asked about it.

Will get into some detail on that later on this week, though.

I guess it is obvious but it seems that the "orgainization" (Neal and Jon) see vocalist as no more than a meal ticket. Without one their income must be comprimised. I think Arnel is going to end up with one of the following or all.

1. A very sore throat
2. A very sore anus.
3. A deer in the headlights look when he hears he has been replaced by (insert poor fucker) from a complete stranger.

So Jeremey can you give some insight in to why exactly it is that Perry will have nothing to do with them or is that laundry too dirty ? My guess is if he could he would and that years of touring two million dates a year just busted his voice up.

I guess I would have taken it if it were me for one reason. Make enough to pay off my house and just not show up for "work" the following day but I have no children to consider.

Excellent post, much appreciated.

I would love to know what the "dealbreaker" was though. Given that Journey's sets, even with a new LP are going to be 90% (or more) old stuff, I really can't comprehend what this could be.

sounds like the deal breaker was to see what kinda of magic J. could deliver on a demo song with

Thanks for communicating with us Jeremey and JSS. I'm still a fan of Journey and any info about the band is great since we never hear from the bandmembers themselves. Even I'm curious as hell to know what happened, you made the right decision about not going into too much detail about your experiences. It shows that you have great class to respect the privacy of others.

Didn't he just get married a couple of years ago and doesn't he have a relatively new child? Aja, I think her name is? How many relationships is it for this guy? I don't mean to be a "morality cop" because I certainly have a halo over my horns but, c'mon. The guy must have ADHD and the focus and attention span of a hummingbird. No wonder he can't make any decisions.

Of course, Jeremey could have mis-spoke and meant wife or, he could have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag. I hope, for Neal's sake, that Amber (his wife) Schon doesn't read these boards.

Would that be three? Not sure but I will say that I remember the wedding with Amber and the publicity surrounding the birth of the daughters. Seems to me her father used to post at BT? I also thought they had built a home in Minnesota to be closer to her family. Was all very dreamy! A shame huh?

Hey man - My impression was just that there was a lot of water under that bridge, and time hadn't healed those wounds as much as we, the fans, may have liked. I didn't get much info on Perry at all while I was there, other than the band obviously still has a tremendous amount of respect for his talents and what they created together. Someone told me that during "Trial By Fear" sessions, Perry would come to Cain's house and just hang out in his kitchen with his wife and chat about all sorts of things, that he was really had a lot of innocence, like a little kid. You could tell that those guys really grew up together, and for whatever reason, the years just took it's toll on their mutual relationship.

O.K. then. Neal and Jon, call him up. Stalk him. Camp outside his house. Kiss his ass. Whatever it takes to get him back if the "old sound" and "magic" is what you want. They'd have to literally sell their souls to the devil but hey, if that's what they want. That would be the reunion tour of all reunion tours even if Steve can't come close to signing like he used to. Hell, look at VH these days. DLR is back and tickets are selling for hundreds of $$$ and selling out in 45 min. A Journey tour like that would be at least that successful.

On the other hand, doing what they're doing now is like when they dispatched Smitty and Ross before ROR. They're looking for anyone with a pulse that they can push around. Whoever they bring in will be a part-time solution.

Afaik, Amber was either #4 or #5, not #3...

There's a long line of ex-mrs Schon's that wait to get their alimony check every month.

Yeah, Perry was by no means innocent in that situation, but I bet Frig and Fro wish now that they hadn't handled it the way they did.
