Here's some real fucking genius journalism. I can't believe someone wrote this:

"These shows may now be canceled due to Jackson's death."

Paul McCartney fans might dispute it but Michael Jackson may very well be what we can call the last great Superstar. Who else out there could garner this much attention despite not having toured in over a decade?

Oh piss off you little opportunist. You can trot along and believe what you will, and I will never tell you you're wrong or mock you for it. Because unlike some seemigly arrogant people, I respect the innate human right to find your own belief system.

But you know, that's fine... mock me! I'd rather be wrong in my faith than to be wrong in your absence of it.

Absolutely.

I don't think he can. Didn't he use it as collateral for a huge loan? My guess is that PM will have to buy them from the bank for the difference.

I certainly HOPE that comes out to be true.
Still amazes me that anyone would so seriously screw a guy that was his friend for years like that.

Through my work, I knew a guy who suffered from epilepsy which affected him to the point where he had the persona of a youngish teenager even though he was in his 20s.

He was a kind person to the point of being childlike. Example, he told me he'd gone to a burger king and was proud of the construction paper four leaf clover they gave him with his name written in on it 'cause he donated a dollar for a hospital fundraiser (yes, he had it with him and showed it to me).

One of the things that bothered him more than anything was that the neighbor parents told all their kids to stay away from him 'cause he "might" be a child molester. The guy was basically a child himself and liked being around kids 'cause he felt more comfortable with them than adults.

He had no money, but if he was worth millions, what do you suppose would've happened?

Wow, when I read about Farrah dying today and about Ed McMahon, I was just thinking, "who's next" because most times that works in 3's. I knew he wasn't going to be doing all those shows in the UK. If they find out it was self inflicted suicide, many of those people who were working with Jackson on this upcoming "last curtain call" concert will be pissed off I think. Wonder if they found him in a closet with a rope tied around his neck and genitals?

Great example. If it weren't for his money MJ would have merely been the harmless neighborhood "weirdo."

It's hard to believe this isn't on the front page already Mac.

MJ was a weird person in the end that accomplished great things. Hi vocals on ABC and I'll Be There are some of the best ever in my opinion. Rest in peace MJ.

There are easily as many people who believe Jacko was a pedophile as there are people who believe O.J. was guilty of murder. Celebrities get away with crime and they buy high-priced lawyers to get them off the hook. I don't know if Jacko ever penetrated any boys but it seems pretty obvious that he had some weird sexual deviations. But I don't think he ever raped anyone... maybe just jacked off with some kids after sharing Jesus Juice together. It may all be speculation but I think most people believe it happened.

Obviously that is not the case. Some of the comments in this thread are just unbelievable and not at all funny, if that's what the intent is. RIP MJ

I think the only musicians who would get absolute godlike treatment on this forum after they die are the Journey band members. All other celebrities are fair game from what I can tell.

If he did, the bank would hold the rights...

Granted, unless someone has first hand knowledge of Jacko's will, it would be the kind of thing that wouldn't necessarily come out very clearly until long after it was executed and his estate had been assessed. So It'll be a safe bet to take such news with a grain of salt...

regardless, I'd love to see the valuation workpapers for such a property as the beatles catalog. dayum. That's gotta be the hottest intangible property, next to the coke formula...

Well, the one in the '90s was very suspect. Most people were behind Michael b/c of the family. The father divorced from the mother was on tape bragging about bringing Michael down with his bulldog lawyer and ruining his career and the money he wanted to settle. Also pretty much said on tape he didn't care about the effect this was having on his son. He appeared to be out for himself, not his son. The father, a dentist, was behind a lot of money in child support. So the public was mostly behind Michael. Then Michael settled for 20 million dollars or so and the criminal case was dropped, which made people wonder, that something must have happened, but the degree who knows.

The last trial, that case was very shaky. All parties in that family were questionable.

No, I think it's a fairly safe bet that there are some in this forum that would piss on Perry, Schon or Cain's graves too!

Wow, this is like they had a airline ticket to the Jim Jones summer camp but the flight was canceled right at the last minute so they missed out on the opening Tea Ceremony. Think of the children that may have been MJ's next victims. Lucky for them MJ didn't have a chance to lay a hand on them.

That's the thing.

There wasn't just one accusation. There were many....and a handful were settled out of court....and let's be real. Those are the ones we heard about. Just about every case like this, is presented in private first....and there's usually a monetary demand. There might have been some of those as well....and Jacko might have paid his way out of those as well....

He escaped criminal conviction, because he (at the time) had deep pockets.

There's a difference between defending oneself when you're not guilty...and successfully defending yourself, while guilty as dirt. Being successful in the later does not absolve you of the fact you did the crime. All it does is prevent you from facing criminal repercussions.

Regardless, I'll back off on this now. I've got a bottle of Jesus Juice that's got my name on it.

He might not have been a legal target for *some* of the money grabbers, but money doesn't make a pedophile.

So in the end, without his money, he probably would have been convicted....

Exactly, that's why OJ is in prison this time around. He didn't have the money this time to muster up an entire dream team. Plus he left living victims this time.

This news is still fresh about MJ so give it some time for all the fine details to come out. I'm sure there's a lot of stuff we've not heard yet about this, and in due time it will come out.

He probably OD'ed on prozac or something. I just read that he was completely freaking over the 50 concerts he was expected to do in London. He said he went to bed knowing he was on the hook for 10....and that he woke up to 50.

I wonder who will take custody of the children. His ex-wife signed away her parental rights years ago.

Doesn't necessarily mean anything. It depends on what she signed....if she signed something that extended custody to Jacko in life and death....then custody would be governed by Jacko's will.

But if not, she might be able to step in and claim custody...even so, depending on the what's said in the will, she might be able to contest it, given that she's the blood mother...

Come on Gunbot. You know damned well Bruce could and he did. He broke up the E Street Band in 91, and 9 years later reunited, they sold out Madison Square Garden 10 nights, and he actually played the gigs.

Garth Brooks comes to mind also. I don't think Perry would be as big as Bruce, Garth or MJ, but he could garner some attention. The Police did a little bit.
