You can do this, but most large companies have everything on backup. So even if you delete it, it may be deleted from your computer, but not the company backup.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Did I say that? Hell, I am all for fucking over your employer.....I meant to say that traffic is much higher on this website on "workdays" than weekends. RedJoe, Dave, NIG, lights, Cyndy!, AR, and others..I am jealous as all Hell these fuckers can bump around at work surfing music sites, sports and porn. Bastards! Get a real job you dickheads!

Easy Solution for EVERYONE!, Any Avatar you wish to use that you've found on the net, just copy it to your HOME computer, and then upload it to a site such as ImageShack or Photobucket and host it from there

I have certain times when I can surf the net at work as well, but I've never been questioned and we have some serious filters going on. They even block Google Images and sites such as NFL and Yahoo Sports for some reason, BUT I can get to all my music sites and ebay

One thing My co-workers and I have done over and over in the past was to go to your Control Panel and into Internet Options and then Delete Cookies, Delete Temporary Internet Files and then at the bottom, Delete Browse History EVERYTIME we log off the computer. I started doing this 6 years ago when I started there, and some of my co-workers questioned what I was doing, so I showed them. It caught on like crazy and now damn near everyone does it. Cover Your Ass!!! 8) See if you're able to access the control panel at work and see if you can do all this WOF. Good Luck

Thanks much for the heads up Wheels of Frye. I know at my place of employment the internet useage is monitored and since they are paying for it they have the right to tell us what to use it for and if it's for business purposes ok, if not they have the right to restrict it's use. I know some sites are off limits/blocked sites. One such site is the ABC TV web site. I've been told many times that we are being paid for 8 hours of work and not 8 hours of surfing the internet. I never would have thought that could happen either but since it has, it could happen at my place of employment also. So I'll have to not go to MR during work time either.

Most company firewalls write all internet traffic to a log file. Every morning, I have my office's firewall set to open a report of all the previous day's activity. The log shows all traffic in and out of the firewall as well as all traffic denied. I can also launch an app that shows all current activity going in and out through the firewall. Anyway, so this stuff isn't necessarily on the backup, but if the network admin is worth his salt, he's always got at least a month or so of logs that will have all this information.

Fortunately, since I am the network admin, I won't be firing myself anytime soon for visiting MR during the day.

You know the details of how it works. I'm sure our I.T. people know, too. It's like Brywool said about the corporate world not considering the details. In my case, it's the details that are the difference between me being a Porn Surfer or a MR.com member.

It's always in the details. We're just in too much of a rush to bother with them.

Thanks, T. Good counsel about CYA. I've done that by requesting that my internet be cut. I'll just find other ways of getting certain aspects of my job done without it - otherwise I won't have a job!

If your network admin is keeping and/or reviewing the log files, it won't matter a bit if you delete the cookies, temporary internet files, and cache. All that stuff is logged on the firewall as soon as you access a site. All the network admin has to do is trace the IP address associated with the traffic back to the machine that it came from. If he's not sure which IP address goes with which machine, he can just do a reverse DNS lookup on the IP address to the machine name that it's associated with.

A lot of you spend more time on MR than you do working. I think it's hilarious when Andrew states that traffic DROPS on weekends(days off) versus the work week. By the way, I am not bashing you who do fuck off at work, just sayin' I find it funny. if these cubicle employers want you off the Net, they should disable the fucker, no?

Go tell your boss to fuck himself. Either fight for yourself or stay the Hell off the internet. Like Barb said, if you do a good job, it shouldn't mater anyway.

Since when does McDonald's have internet access for it's employees?

I actually work in the food industry but not McDonald's!

I bust my backside every day. My employer gets 110% from me. I'm a task-oriented person who's in high gear every day. I get A LOT done - sometimes I literally can't believe how much. It's insane what I can do in 8 hours at work. I've just always been like that. I remember a job I had at a foundry in Cleveland making casting shells. Hot, miserable place to work. I made LOTS of shells and FAST. One guy was ticked at me and told me to slow down because I was making him look bad. It made sense to slow down as I was only getting paid $5 / hour but I just couldn't do it. I've been called a workaholic my entire life but it's really more a character trait.

Considering this I'm not surprised that my internet usage is high. I mean, I'm a jack rabbit in everything I do!

Come to think of it my wife and I had 3 boys in the span of 4 years!

in all sincerity man,, the I.T.'s at your job know your not a porn surfer,, everytime you get on the web you leave a cookie and a temp internet file.. IF you were searching porn , you would have 100' -1000's of these,, you dont !!! you have 1 each time .. .. these I.T.'s are just scanning the server for the words "sex".."girl" ..ect.. . its a red flag if it comes up,,

..so everyday,, delete your temporary internet files and cookies,, unless its password protected,,

You are very naive if you think that's going to help. I am sure these things can be tracked at a server level.

I'm also suprise that this hasn't happened sooner to somebody...or, maybe it has. I would never browse this forum, or most others, from my office PC.

Read my previous couple of posts. It's easier than viewing it at a server level. In fact, I view this stuff from nothing more than a workstation with the firewall's monitoring software installed. It's as easy as having a report generated every day, twice a day, whatever, or someone just sitting at the machine with a host watch app open, which allows you to view all internet traffic from each machine in the office.

Right once again. You're on a major roll.

That's an obvious, easy, and logical argument. I'm sure you could even find a "habit" or two that you do regularly that could be cut.

Why don't you be honest and tell us about them?

Our company has is linked to a private intranet, so we can only access things that are directly job related. It's just as well, since I only do about 15-20 minutes of actual office work a day. The rest is spent dealing with vendors, checking inventory, reviewing profit plans, etc. If we had net access at work, I would''ve been fired ages ago.
