Good try! On record for loving Deen,

Awww, how can a gal not love that sweetie Deen, never met him, but I have heard nothing but stellar comments from the people that have. Never really noticed the drummer of a band much before until I watched the 2001 dvd and there is Deen back there just a smiling, head bopping away to the music as he's drumming. Nothing more entertaining than watching somebody who just loves what they do. :)

I loved his interview with Andrew after the WOF event.
He looked pretty cool in his short cargo pants at the concert I attended.

I never have been a fan of living in the past, but if it works for you- knock yourself out.

You nailed that, Lula. Many people can't let go of the past because it reminds them of when they weren't so frumpy and boring.

Agreed NIG, but it goes both ways. Some, also look at appreciating the past as somehow taking away from the present or future. LMAO, I like Red's analogy.....a Hybrid Journey fan. I'm a cross between a Perry-era fan and a JSS-era fan. I consider myself a hardcore Perry fan, but not a Perry-only. Hell and the more previous work I check out of JSS's, fast becoming a hardcore JSS fan too.

LOL, somebody needs to do a poll, and define all the different Journey fans. :)

Not so much a poll, Debbie, but beg tolerance for those of us who choose to feel the way we do without being trashed. It's gotten to be a religion and it's up for grabs, just who is going to hell for having a different faith. Can't we live and let live?

By all means. As long as you're not trashing somebody else for theirs, it's all good. Believe me Hots, I was exactly where you are a year ago, no way in hell would I accept anybody singing Perry's songs. But that was before I saw what JSS brings to the table (not just on the Journey stuff, but ALL his previous work) I am really digging it. I am not one to go with the flow, if I like it - I like it, if I don't - I don't. I can honestly understand if you've given it a chance and checked it all out and don't like it, everybody's musical tastes are different. But liking what JSS brings doesn't necessarily mean somebody is 'going with the flow'. I've been lucky enough to meet both men and they are both very down to earth, nice guys. Tolerance goes both ways. I haven't been this excited about "Journey" in 20 years, so don't burst my bubble, k Hots?

You have got to believe that I am not out to change anyone's views on the music that moves them. Maybe I'll find what I loved about Journey in their new music with their great new vocalist. Perry got me interested in Journey and it remains to be seen if JSS can get me interested again. Singing the old songs doesn't do it but new music might.

Who cares if you are trying to change the views of others? Isn't that one of the purposes of a forum? It goes on ALL THE TIME here.

Don't worry about the crap people give you. You're entitled to your opinion.

sit in the front row at the next concert, hots. you will be swept away, I promise. I went to Soul SirkUS to see Neal and oh my. right Carl? I fell Stone Cold Crazy head over heels for him. he's beyond talented, sincere, loving, kind, generous, not to mention HOT, , the hardest working vocalist in R&R, and the master of any genre he chooses.

Oh and he sings lead for Journey now too.

can't hold it against Jeff that Journey needs a singer, can we? I am so glad he agreed to do this gig. we are so blessed.

The same ones on a certain 2001 DVD.

Enter Soto. Enter NEW tunes. After the Fall, Dead or Alive, Rubicon, Remember Me, Winds of March, Opened the Door, and others. SA never did any new songs, except Faith in the Heartland and The Place in Your Heart and those were off the CD!

Neal and Jon and Deen as well, are loving this new LIVE lead singer. Trust me, they wanted out of the "looped" dirty doven.

Journey played a few surprise songs during the 30th Anniversary tour, didn't they? Was that the tour they played Happy To Give...for the first time ever?

They played a bunch of new shit, but Deen sang all those. The previous tours, Happy to Give was played as well as Suzanne, both sung by Deen.

No dude. It's written for the Commonwealth of Virginia, it's freedom, and in my opinion, a big fuck you to Britain. If I were Jeff, I would say to that wrinkled bag of piss stained clothing and golden brown teeth, "Fuck you and your Throne!" Then take out that Union Jack and wipe my ass with it.

I hate the UK.

Oh ok. I just figured it might had been written for Tech since the tragedy had happened. I couldn't think of any other reason why they would write a song about Virginia. Not that it's a bad place..heck I live in VA..

Either way, I can't wait to hear something new from the band.

I was really holding out for "Journey Mach 2", a real Departure, like the one 'Tap pulled off in '82 when Tufnel left the band for no good reason. Neal could stretch Kahoutek another 25 minutes by adding one of those Frankie Sullivan solos. Just a thought.

How many "Spinal Tap" drummers have died, in total?

A question asked by a Newsweek interviewer of Spinal Tap member David St. Hubbins. His response:

"Well, we've lost count. It got spooky. We decided we were going to make an entire album with no live drumming at all--just a computer program. And you know what happened? The computer crashed. And we said, 'Walk away. Walk away'.

Known drummer deaths for Spinal Tap:

* John "Stumpy" Pepys -- died in 1969 in a bizarre gardening accident.
* Eric Childs -- died 1974, choking to death on someone else's vomit.
* Peter "James" Bond -- spontaneously combusted on stage in 1977.
* Mick Shrimpton, who replaced Bond, disappeared and is presumed dead, as his brother Ric replaced him in 1992 and interviews with Ric make reference to other Tap members saying "We're not sure we want to put your mum through this again." (Rip, June 1992). I can't find a cause of death stated anywhere, though.
* In an interview on the Arsenio Hall Show in December 1992, David St. Hubbins referred to a drummer he did not name who had been accidentally packed with the band's equipment and never seen again. St. Hubbins also claimed then that the band had had 12 drummers.

PS I hope your illegal cronies are deported and never allowed to come back. How dare they infiltrate our beautiful country. If they respected this country they would respect its entry process. We have no need for people unwilling to acclimate to our way of life. They can stay in that shithole they call home.

What a load of shit! We went from a brand spanking new song to wishing aids to sending illegal aliens to blah blah blah. I and many others can do without the verbal abuse and the shit that flows through here on a daily basis. Leave that shit to yourself! Just an FYI without illegals you would have a hole to shit on a freeway to drive on, a home to live in the very food you eat picked. I like to se your get your ass up and go pick the fields for a measly dollar amount! Get your heads out of your ass and stop whining about shit you absolutely can't do shit about. Have a nice day. I love the UK BTW!

Is Journey gonna fucking sing a new song or not?

1) I'd post the staggering statistics of how they're ruining the country, but it would probably do no good as you seem to be an apologist for law breakers and an anarchist.

2) I too, love the UK.

3) Yes, I think Journey will play a new song.

4) My solution for low wage field pickers is quite simple. They're called inmates. They try and run, shoot to kill.

Is Journey gonna fucking sing a new song or not?

Yes! The name of the new song will be "Winds Of Freedom." I would say that many of us have ancestors who were immigrants who came to America for a free and better life. Our Country is a melting pot of all other countries.
