exactly. either he's going to sing, or he's not going to sing. why do some feel he has to make a decision & announce his plans now?

I just noticed that comment, Deb... and you're so right. It's not Perry's responsibility to show up and make everyone happy, and if people are clinging to something that may or may not happen, it's got nothing to do with him. There's nothing wrong with hoping, but when people start saying "why won't he say one way or the other...", that's when it gets weird. What if he doesn't even know? Do any of us know what's going to be happening in our life 3, 6 or 12 months into the future? I sure as hell don't.

Personally, I feel that he's given me what he had to give. I'm perfectly happy playing the old stuff.
I don't need more. If there's more, then excellent. If not, that's his choice

Yep, and while you're waiting and if you're missing that Perry stage presence and vocal passion, then get to a friggin JSS show! Jeff's one of the best frontman out there and JSSB rocks the house like nobody's business! I hope his career just soars, he soooooo deserves it.

Amazing to read such rational, reasonable comments coming from a bunch of deranged loons like us isn't it?

A lot of those people who moved on with Journey because it was never about Perry anyway, sure have spent a lot of time over the last 10 years berating Perry for not being around anymore.

Whoa, hey, I'll admit to the deranged part, but I'm not a loon.
And you're right about the berating thing too. If he doesn't want to sing, then he doesn't want to sing.
And doesn't want to play in the same sandbox with FrigFro, I can't say I blame him for that either.
Steve reuniting with Journey - now THAT would actually depress me.

BUT I WOULDN'T CRY IN MY COFFEE IF ANOTHER DVD CAME OUT, STEVE!

ANYTHING from 1980 would be more than welcome!
That was an awesome tour!

(and a bonus in that there's no Friga making his singing turtle faces?)

RM: "...Stephen Perry - I asked him; he said he was busy, couldn't do it, so...two people I'd really love to work with.

Larry King: Does that mean you'll never speak to [him] again?

RM: NO; not at all! I understand 100%. [He] got right back to me and told me that [he] couldn't do it, and I understood....I was just very thrilled that [he] answered my call."

...SO WEIRD to hear him "called" that

99.9% of the time I'd agree, but in this instance I think we'll be pleasantly surprised as I think we'll hear some of his work with Nuno soon.....I hope.

That whole giving the "busy" excuse sounds like what you do when someone asks you to do something you don't want to do and you're too nice to say "not interested". I'd like to think the man is actually busy. If there were ever a time to do something (anything!), there's no time like now. Its put out or get out. Interest as/is won't be around forever.

I think people have waited a long time to hear something from Perry, with big hopes that someday it will happen. He has done the Golub, Pack and Guff stuff, so it keeps that hope going that maybe something more might follow. Maybe even a whole friggin' song! He can obviously sing. It sounded good to me, what little we heard. Nobody sounds like they used to in their youth. He needs to let that stop hindering him, if that's his hang up. He'd still sound better than most. If he just doesn't want to sing anymore, then so be it. It doesn't stop fans (or obviously other artists) from wanting him to sing.

I hear you, but the fact that he answered her as quickly as she said tells me he respects her and possibly appreciated that she thought of him. I think he probably is busy, but whether or not he's busy doing what we would like him to do is another matter. Image

Hell, sometimes I tell people I'm busy when all it means is: "I'd be in for it, but I'm too content in what I'm filling my time with to bend my schedule otherwise."

We shall see, that is the only thing for certain.

If Reba recorded the CD in 2006, then Perry would have been busy with the Guff thing. Prior to that, he was doing p.r. for the Escape DVD. Reba's CD may have just been released, but it was recorded last year, I think. So much for the Perry/Nuno reason for being busy, S.J. :D
