Dan Rather Sues CBS for $70 Million
The Former News Anchorman Claims CBS Made Him 'a Scapegoat'

The suit, filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan, claims that CBS and its executives made Rather "a scapegoat" in an attempt "to pacify the White House."

Rather says in his suit that Redstone made it clear that a Bush victory would be good for Viacom and that it was "important to Vicacom to have good relations with the Oval Office."

He was talking about this on the View yesterday. He said that the huge corporations that own the networks are more interested in garnering favor, and therefore favors, from the administration than reporting the truth.

Rather has a long history of hatred against the Bush family. He was made the "scapegoat" because, in this case, he has four legs, hoofs, fur, and a billy goat beard.

You don't like to argue with me, remember? I told you I'd leave you alone but if you're going to respond to my posts you can hardly expect me to ignore it. Does this mean you've changed your mind? It's not as if Dan was the first or only person to look into this. He was just the most visible and well known person who worked for one of the big corporations who were more worried about special favors than news.

I don't mind arguing with you. What I don't like are the constant comments about how stupid conservatives are, equating us with wife beaters, etc.

We've seen all this before. Rather got kicked to the curb because he used doctored documents to make his case with. He was found out and he got what he deserved.

Just callin' 'em like I see 'em.

I never said anything to the effect that all conservatives are wife beaters. All of the completely irrational posts in a particular thread about the glories of the war in Iraq, and Bush for starting it, gave me a mental image of militaristic, maniacal, morons running around in the woods playing war games and beating their wives. I said that those kind of people were republicans. Anybody who chose to take it as a personal insult took it on themselves I didn't put it on them.

That's not quite true, but there's no since trying to explain that to you because you don't want to know it.

The point was though, that the administration has been stifling the network news through the corporations that own them. But then that's another truth that you don't want to see. You like thinking the media(except for Faux News) is too hard on Bush, when all they've actually done is refrain from heaping undeserved glory on him. They haven't been allowed to do anything else.
