He probably appears in perfect shape though. Like Ewmatt said, the heart is like a time bomb sometimes, the doctors won't even see it coming.

According to Neal, the doctors said he was fine, so they're playing tomorrow.

Plus, he might be in excellent "drumming shape." You can be in great shape for a certain kind of physical activity and not other things...

He's so used to drumming and the muscles he uses for it are probably well-trained (almost have to be), but overall physical fitness could be lacking. Or he could just have bad heredity. Or a little bit of both. Fuck if I know

Arnel would be best not to take those calls. he doesn't want to be taken out of context on this issue (and it will happen). He's not the leader of the band anyway, it's not his place to say who it is.

Plus he would be in violation of HIPPA if he says anything. Then again, he's out of the U.S.

Even if he was in the U.S., you cant' be in violation of anything if you aren't an employee of the hospital.

Deen's name did come from him though, when it probably wasn't meant to. I'm glad Neal quickly verified it once the cat was let out of the bag.

I'm not sure when Arnel mentioned it but my friend called at past 6 (DE time)/12 PM EST complaining about a venue change. She then called back after few minutes mentioning the cancellation due to Deen's problem. They probably announced the reason at the venue.

I never said Arnel said anything. The only thing I read on there he let his fans know he was okay, nothing more. They had that announcement cancelling posted and they mentioned Deen in the SB. They mentioned like I said they were hoping to get hold of him to find out who it was. Later I went back on and they were saying it was Deen and talking about Lori was online. So I'm sure that's where they got the formal announcement it was him.

You didn't say anything. Actually, a second person was allowed to listen to the phone message Arnel left and they posted that AP said in the message that they were taking Deen to the hospital.

That post has since been edited, saying it's best that the news comes from the band.

This was all in the public portion of the website by the way. No login required.

Obviously we all wanted to know what's going on so of course any info available is going to be shared, especially when it's on the internet. If Arnel didn't tell them to keep Deen's name quiet it's not surprising that it got to the shoutbox.

The person who FIRST mentioned Deen's name is an active member of the site and somewhat close to the band because of her line of work.

Btw, Deen we love you. Take care.

So they okayed her to make it public? If that's the case then all is well then, as protocol was not broken.

I did not say it's ok, but it was not the person you mentioned in your previous post who first mentioned Deen's name at the SB. That's all I meant to clarify.

I didn't mention a name. I got the information from a post that has since been edited as I wrote above. I don't even know anything about the shoutbox other then what Jana mentioned. The SB isn't even viewable to the public, right?

I'll PM the link if you want. I'm not going to put it here.

 Completely off topic, but that reminded me - one of my friends gave me his Beatles trivia game a few years ago - must pull that out one of these days! I remember playing it once years ago and failed miserably - I'm sure it must be some kind of collectors item or something, it's from the 70's I think.

OK - back on topic - GET WELL DEEN!!!

This person is the one who said Arnel mentioned Deen's name in the phone message. That's all. If Arnel really said it, I doubt he wanted it in the shoutbox or whatever it's called before the band made an offcial announcement.

I sure hope he's okay. I love Dean's talent. I just hope they did all of the tests needed. My mom was having chest pains last Sunday and rushed her to the hospital and ekg and others tests showed no problem until they did the heart cath aday later and found out she did have a heart attack and had to have open heart surgery. I sure hope they checked all of this. We hope you are well soon Dean!

A couple of things…first drumming and then vocally. This is a three hour show. With the stamina involved - how do you keep up with it?
I'll tell you something…four or five years ago I wouldn't have been able to do it. I was pretty messed up on drugs and alcohol and the band had an intervention with me and got me on the straight and narrow.
It's been great, I lost 60 pounds and that is the only way I could do it – off the drugs and alcohol and with the weight loss. I am able to do 3 hours with no problem.
