Judging from what we have to go on (which admittedly isn't much, just writer credits & song titles), what songs are you excited to hear the most?
1. Faith In The Heartland (Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon & Steve Augeri);
2. The Place In Your Heart (Jonathan Cain & Neal Schon);
3. A Better Life ((Jonathan Cain & Neal Schon);
4. Every Generation (Jonathan Cain);
5. Butterfly (She Flies Alone)(Steve Augeri);
6. Believe (Steve Augeri, Thomas DeRossi);
7. Knowing That You Love Me (Jonathan Cain);
8. Out Of Harms Way (Jonathan Cain & Neal Schon);
9. Self-Defense (Jonathan Cain & Neal Schon);
10. Better Together (Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon & Steve Augeri);
11. Gone Crazy (Jonathan Cain, Kim Tribble & Neal Schon);
12. Beyond the Clouds (Neal Schon & Steve Augeri);
Out of them, I wanna hear the Augeri solo credit "Butterfly (She Flies Alone)"...just to see what Augeri did left to his own devices
I also wanna hear the Iraqi-soldier themed "Out of Harm's Way" and see if Cain and Schon try to pander to red state conservative America or write about the subject in a fairly politically-innocuous, "safe" way.
We shall see....

I am excited to hear the Deen-sung song the most. I think the ones penned by the trio (Schon-Cain-Augeri) will be very interesting to compare to the old trio's collaborations.

Well, I guess that was the easy way...I want to hear them ALL!!
But I am most interested in Faith In the Heartland (sounds epic), Butterfly (Same as you, a Steve solo credit, and sounds poetic), Gone Crazy (sounds like a great rocker) and Beyond The Clouds (another epic sounding title).

"Faith In The Heartland" really has my interest piqued. The only song I'm not interested in at this stage is Self Defense...I really never liked it....

I predict that the song that Ross sings will be a big hit. I'm looking forward to it.
They will be here on July 7th and Styx is on the 8th. $27. for Journey and $21. for Styx so I hope to get to both and will hope that I get to meet the guys. Ross better sing or I'll be disappointed.

Are you purposely trying to channel the spirit of Joe Reardon?
This is as random and unfunny as something the Troll would say.

Wow! Thanks for that Dave. As they say in the movies, NOW you tell me.
You are right tho, Fred never did get quite that abusive and that made me wonder.

Speaking of Ross singing, did he share vocals with Rolie on their first album with the song "In The Morning Day" ?

That was a GREAT post Jrnyman!
After reading your post, it reminded me that yes your right, Fred didn't get emotional in his responses & held it together when in disagreement with another person. I know I didn't always agree with him, NOR did he always agree with me, but I don't recall him being that abusive either.
Thanks for posting that & reminding me about him. I apologize for confusing Fred with NC or Yak.
Lori

My pleasure...
Maybe I will email Fred and ask him to stop by. But I think he might have better things to do...

I do not know for sure, nothing I find says anything about it. When re-reading some of the Time3 book it leads me to believe that Rolie did all the vocals on the first album. I will listen to the song later and see what I hear...

It's on side one, second song from Journey's first album.
