TUESDAY, JUNE 21, chat transcript
Gemma Tarlach
Journal Sentinel pop music critic
With Summerfest just around the corner, the Journal Sentinel's pop music critic answers your questions in her monthly chat.

Q: Mark of Oshkosh - "Journey" at the Amphitheatre? (I put it in quotes since it's not really Journey without Steve Perry.) Is this some kind of sick joke?

A: Gemma Tarlach - What can I say, Mark? We live in troubling times. But you were not the only person who had that reaction upon hearing the "J" word. Lambasting the Journey booking is the second most popular topic for angry e-mails in my inbox lately, beat out only by general Summerfest grousing. I feel your pain.

Pop critics have never like Journey. All the more reason to like Journey IMO.

Congrats on having the critic answer your question. You must be so proud.

Critics have always been carping on Journey (this is no big suprise).

The whole "without Perry" thing just adds more ammunition to would-be detractors collective anti-Journey arsenal.
Let 'em talk....
Like Perryheads, sure, they may raise alot of noise, but ultimately are insignificant in the overall scheme of things.

And I thought you were here to talk about Journey and your love of them circe 1978-1986? What was I thinking???

This just shows that you are really here to continue attacking the band and it's fans, antagonizing and polarizing the two 'factions' of the Journey fanbase.

I guess NC and Deano have been right ALL ALONG!!

Don't forget Monker.
He is really the progenitor of it all.

What the hell does that mean? Take a look at their sales. Not too shabby.
