This is my last post on this here.
I just heard Faithfully and DSB from Jones Beach. He is definetely singing live. I don't know about the other songs he sings, whether they were live or not, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
This is all I ever wanted. The band now has returned to authenticity, and that's all I wanted. Augeri sounds worse than I have ever heard from any singer, but at least he is trying and at least he is live. This voice sounds so damaged it could be irreversible.
A couple things- At least you all know now that he was lipping last year, and that I didn't fabricate anything.
Journey is getting a reprieve in my eyes, because they came clean and this "movement" did get to them.
I for one am 100% done with this, whether they resort to lipping tomorrow or not.
Here are the songs.
One more note, Deen bettter watch out; he helps out on Faithfully and sounds like he cracked or hurt himself at the 2:50 minute mark....even deen cracks a bit...makes you respect perry for what he did even more..

Being true to my word, I won't make fun of Augeri for this, but it's painfully obvious he needs to go.

Thank you for giving up your campaign Deano.
For all who care: I hope the last week has taught us all valuable life lessons. The tongue is mightier than the sword and there is a human being on the other end of that sword. We have not walked in each other's shoes yet many throw stones and sit in judgement of each other based on mere words.
At the end of the road, when you look back on your life -- I hope you smile because you have built relationships, geniune relationships along the way. Forgiveness is very powerful and will change your life.
May your new day start with a bold passion to help and to give to others.

I have to say that was painful to hear those clips, I thought Lorrie Morgan top the charts as the worst to sing "Faithfully", this truly was the worst of any clip I've heard so far...DSB was just as bad...

This is probably the most accurate statement said on these boards in the last few weeks. After watching the Houston DVD the other day again I was watching Perry and he was singing his ass off hitting note after note.
He is the reason most of us fell in love with this ban
Deano I know we have never meet or really trade post too much, but I respect your opinon and you had a passion for your thoughts

Journeycat and troubled child-
You two can eat my ass.
Pressure? Hardly. Journey was and probably still is under pressure. I didn't falsify my songs. I didn't fake it.
I proved it.
You all just bitched and howled and squealed.

painful.....
I do not know what is worse, the fallacy of the taped version in a live setting or the actual live version. This is sad for the fans, but also for Mr. Augeri who must be under a lot of pressure when he needs a much deserved break for his voice and career!

Sorry folks but I feel like renaming "Faithfully" after listening to that clip! It would be better named "Painfully."

Wow...this hurts.
Again, I'm young...I never experienced Perry when it happened. I knew Journey songs on the radio but I didn't seriously start listening to them until after Augeri had already joined. So it wasn't a big deal that they replaced Perry, I was honestly just happier that Journey was continuing and that they'd found a great singer to create new music with. If Perry was going to be a dick and leave the band, I didn't blame the rest one bit for wanting to continue. I loved Arrival right from the beginning, and had the utmost respect for Augeri. He wasn't as good a singer, but he was close (at least on record, which was all I had to go by), and it kills me to hear his voice in this kind of shape. Part of it is age, but mostly it's him touring as much as they have when clearly he needed a year or so to rest and do whatever singers need to do when they're not on the road. He has a high voice, but he's been straining it since 1998, and you can only do that for so long. It's why bands like Bon Jovi or U2 don't tour regularly, they do big tours every 3 or 4 years.
On the upside, that clip wasn't as bad as I expected, but it's obvious he's hurting...I'm really afraid to hear what the end of the tour sounds like. At least it seems they have a lot of days off, but the second nights of those consecutive dates might be a bit painful. From the sound of it, it sounds like most of the audience has been comprised of Lep fans, I really think Journey should just drop off the tour and come back next year when Steve has fixed whatever's ailing him. I really don't want to see a great voice like that ruined from something so trivial as a greatest-hits tour.

Certainly makes me wonder how bad could Steve Perry's voice be after hearing that? That is one of the first few shows they did at the start of this tour and got bad reviews for imo they cannot continue this tour without resorting to the tapes because they have a lot of shows scheduled.

Sadly, Journey is nothing but a greatest hits touring band now anyway. The best days are long gone, no matter who the singer is. They are ok with this and sadly many fans appear to be too.
kittykat, Perry hasn't toured in 12 years, I'd hope it's ok, but not sure we'd really be able to compare it, ya know?

They're messing with the reviews on the road section. The one that have mysteriously appeared from Mohegan and there was one posted in advance for tonight and now when I check it it comes up unavailable for that page.

Posted in advance? And BT wants this? They then are fair game!
Maybe I should start a new blog for those assholes?
