Today the day for a band statement?

Seems with the issue hitting syndicated radio (Mark & Brian), Journey would be wise to make some type of comment. Hell, Neal should call them up and do some PR control. I know I would.

They played the Manchester clip. There was discussion about how it sounded. Comments about how loud the crowd was, how he ducked the singing, etc. Frank, their board guy, was the most critical saying it was clear when the tape went out and that he sounded horrible after that. They agreed he should go back to tape.

Doubt it.
At this point they're digging deeper into bunker and will continue to until/unless cancellations come down.

JoePa do you really think they would cancel the tour?

If his voice gets bad enough they will.

they might try a fill in...oh mercy..but their crediblity has gone down the tubes. well at least for me it has...bring back Herbie!!! He'll bluff his way through
this one without a problem.

Herbie is a character. He may have no great feelings for anyone anymore, but at least he'd do the right thing. But we all know that won't happen.

Oh you can never be too sure.

Unless Jon Cain is into things unknown like being belittled by the manager as a cocky sumbitch etc etc etc.

I guess we can't be too sure about much of anything anymore at this point.

I am sure the band will be making a statement sooner than you think, its at the point of no return for the band regarding Steve...watch this space. 8)

You have made this claim a couple of times now. Why are you so sure?

As for the tour, if there is another night like this than I hope Journey does cancel. I want Steve to be healthy...and this ain't doin' it.

sure hope they don't thrust steve a into the spotlight and make him explain this away.

yeah, it'd be a shame if it was put to us that it was Steve's idea and the rest had no idea it was happening. Not that you are saying this, but at this point they may as well put it that way. It's a cluster-you-know-what.

I think we all know what's gonna happen. It could be 1 of 2 things.

PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 5:27 am
by whocares
and in your opinon, what are those two things?

PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 5:28 am
by Marabelle
1 of 2 things? Nah. It's pretty much a 1 at this time. I don't think they want to admit anything. It's easier to put it on Steve's shoulders. Now if they discover
they have cajones then perhaps there would be a 2 or three. It can easily be explained honestly. It's medical. Geez; just be truthful. It's the lying that
gets you in deep bahooey.

I'm pretty sure one of those things they won't say is you non-beleivers can F-off. Though they could.

It is medical, but that's nor reason to take fans money.

Okay, 1 of 3 things

1. They'll explain it away and keep going

2. He'll quit

3. He'll get the boot.

PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 5:35 am
by whocares
how do they explain all of this?

if he quits or get's the boot, does Deen C. hold true to his word and leave too?

see? nothing good comes from anything being said at this point. They lose one, they may lose two guys.

Still can't wait to hear them step up and say something.

Of course they should not have taken the money. Big mistake. oh, 4th thing...Neal says the Journey has come to an end. Highly unlikely.

marabelle, that would almost be taking the high road. Say "we've done all we can to this point". Then they dont' have to explain anything.

PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 5:41 am
by Marabelle
you're right..who cares...however I think some of the members might need this last tour. they could patch it together and hope they can string it along
til the end of the summer or fall. i have no idea how they'd patch it up to work; but somebody should be capable of thinking how to do that. the journey
fans love the band and will apparently forgive them for most anything. lying just doesn't get you too awfully far.

Did Deen actually say he'd leave if Steve did? Anything I've seen on the net with Deen talking has said he's very close to Neal.

lol...he'd not say he wasn't close to neal now would he...

Fair point I suppose.

But still, even if it did happen that they both left... the line-up has changed enough times already. I don't think it would be a big issue.

unfortunately Neal made Deen or at least helped make him who he is today. The same can be said for what he did for Augeri at this point.

This would make me think twice about being in a band with Neal.

I don't understand. Your first two sentences seem to praise how Neal helped boost Deen's and Steve's careers. Why would you think twice about being in a band with him? It seems you should jump at the chance. Of course, this is all hypothetical.

I was surprised by the rumor for that very reason. Deen hooked up with Neal back on Late Nite and has been linked with Neal ever since. To hear that Deen threatened to walk if Steve left was unusual. But it is very apparant how tight Deen and Steve are and the bonds of being "the new guys" may have helped.
