I tried to create a poll, but it wouldn't let me. If the Admin (Andrew) could change it into a poll, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

If I could choose and everyone in the band was onboard w/it, hands down Steve Perry. It will not happen but I still dream about it.

Call Freakin' Robbie Hart, Man!!! That song "Grow Old With You" would be a SMASH!!!
... And He's got a Schnoz like Perry so he'd be INSTANTLY accepted :)

You should really remove "Steve Perry" as an option, since a) It's not going to happen and b) Do you really want to hear SP trying to sing at age 57 the same notes he sang at age 30?

Really, I have as much of a chance at being Journey's singer as SP does at this point. (although I could play most of Neal's stuff note-for-note if he ever keeled over  )

Infinity-era Steve Perry? Frontiers-era Perry? TBF-era Perry?
Gotta specify the time frame.
These are all horses of a different color.

Likewise. This guy's voice also went down the tubes as time progressed.

Definitely JSS, he's gonna bring in more of a younger crowd to Journey that may have not been introduced to them so far, they need fresh meat to buy future albums and JSS will help them write some new stuff I bet. If you watch him on youtube some he's really worked hard to get where he is and he deserves a chance. He's also working the crowd a few fans at a time if you read all the stuff about him chatting with people in hotel lobbies and stopping to talk while getting nachos, he seems really humble and ready to face the "I'm the guy after Steve A." Nothing against SA, I just think JSS is cool and what an amazing talent that he can do all the songs so well and keep up with the demands of the road, obviously he's an athlete.

Perry - from 1980.

If it is between Perry now and Soto now, I think Soto is better, physically, for the job.

Always thought that Eric Martin would have fit in well with Journey. If they had changed singers in 83-84, as Herbie had considered, I think he would have been perfect.

Considering it is 2006, I can't think of anyone I have heard that would fit better the JSS. Back before Augerie was brought on, I thought Geoff Tate might have been an interesting choice. That man has/had an incredible voice with alot of range. But apparently the guys thought he didn't "sound like Journey".

Yeah, he wouldn't fit in the band at all, in my opinion. He could shatter glass back in the day but he's lost a lot on the high end and I don't think he'd be able to sing the old tunes very well.

I have no doubt that SP could sing circles around either of the "replacement" singers at 30, 57 or 90. No contest.

It amazes me how many bad news bears spread unfounded gossip and innuendo about a person they have never met. How do any of you know Steve can't sing any more?

If you don't like the guy fine! Leave it at that. Stop with the petty, ignorant, tittle-tattle.
