It's been said that Neal wears shades all the time because they are prescription sunglasses for poor vision.
Personally, I believe that's as likely as JSS's torn jeans serving the medical purpose of keeping his balls well-ventilated on stage.

Many of the bandmembers are known for partaking in the ganja every now- (I mean, c'mon, they ARE 70's era musicians from San Francisco, afterall) and it wouldn't suprise me in the slightest if Neal was really just suffering from a nightly case of puffer's pink eye.

This shouldn't come as a controversial shock to anyone.
In fact, I have several musician friends who always light up during writing sessions.
It spurs their creative juices.

It's funny, but the material never seems nearly as brilliant when you finally come down.
One time I awakened to find myself quizzically starting at two pages worth of lyrics about a Polar bear shaving his ass!
But, I digress, what do you all think?

i think he wears shades just to look cool, but now its part of his uniform like the purple shirt!! but i voted its because hes a vammm- piiirrree....

He took the glasses off lastnight -- did most of the show without them. Sammy Hagar wore his for the entire show. I thought it was because he didn't want to look old.

Hey NIG, I know you love Neal, so do I, but lets be honest, just look at the history of the band. At every turn Neal took the path of money over any integrity or loyalty to boys that started this band together. That just a fact, everyone always goes off on Perry being a self serving, controlling prick and while I agree with that, Neal as a person doesn't rate much higher in my eyes. No offense to you bud.
