Finally got a chance to post....The Pittsburgh concert...

Hey guys,

Just got a chance to post about the Pittsburgh concert from last night. Let me tell you this, it is JOURNEY at its best. They sounded a lot more crisp than the last time I saw them, and Soto's vocals have gotten 10X better than 1 1/2 months ago. The way he works the stage, and works the crowd is amazing, and really got me fired up early, opening with Stone in Love, and ending with Seperate ways. It rained on and off, which made the concert even better. Although Journey really impressed the shit out of me with Soto's vocals, once again, Def Leppard sounded HORRIBLE.

I don't know what it was, they weren't hitting any notes, sounds muffled on the backup singing, music was too loud for them, and at some points, threw the crowd off on some songs with all of the bad mechanics. All in all it was a great concert, I'd say 95% of the crowd was for Journey, and alot of "JOURNEY!" chants along with references to "STEVE PERRY" chants were going on. It's a great time to be a JOURNEY FAN.

Do you guys know how to post video's? I have footage on Don't Stop Believin', Stone in Love, and Seperate Ways.

P.S
Soto is a Steelers Fan YEEEAH!! haha

Cheers

You're right, nobody is perfect, kind of like that perfect road to the Superbowl last season, but anyway...

I just uploaded all my pictures and vids into my pictures, and they play in windows media player. I'm not quite sure what you're asking..

Refs gave the Super Bowl to the Steelers. About time they one one anyway. It had only been 26 years.

And as for the video, upload them to either youtube.com or yousendit.com and post the links.

The refs also let the the longest Superbowl run in history occur, pushed off of safety's , threw interceptions, and made a poor showing on how to run a 2minute offense. Damn those refs.(Really, it's getting old) The refs probably felt bad after trying to bone us off that Polamalu interception in the Colts game. 26 years or not we hold the formula for winning, what's our record, 31-7 in two years or so? I'll take it 5 superbowls and first to six .

Must be a Cleveland fan, or a Jealous Cinci fan. ohwell '

Wrong on both counts.

what's our record

You mean what is the Steelers record. It is not "we" or "our" it is just the team you root for. It is "they". Until you suit up and are getting paid to play it is never "we".

I can't wait to tell Jeff Scott Soto in AC next week, boy WE really gave a great show didn't WE. LOL

I'm a diehard, that's how we get here in the 'Burgh, thats's what seperates US from the rest

Is this a Journey forum? LOL

The Burgh is nice, I went to the Classic Rock Main Event tour there a few years ago.

I agree with YJF, those of us from Pittsburgh that Bleed the Black&Gold say things like 'We' and 'Us' and 'Our' when talking about the Steelers because that's how we roll :)

Now, judging by your address I am thinking you might be a Ravens fan??? If you are, you actually have a lot to be boasting about this year! I swear, our divsion (Pitt, Cinci, Balt and Cleve) is the STRONGEST division in football, hands down!
And the Super Bowl; other than 5 big plays and 1-2 questionable calls, the Steelers played like shit and gave the Seahawks EVERY OPPORTUNITY to win that game... "We" got lucky them Seabirds didn't step up :)

The words " a great time to be a Journey fan" do not instantly spring to mind upon hearing concertgoers still bellowing Perry's name.
Did they assume Jeff was Perry with a haircut, or were they angrily petitioning for the much-vaunted one's return?

Thanks for the review.

I hope it was the latter; fans thinking Jeff was Perry would just solidify the notion that most of the folks going to these shows this year are old geriatrics with bad eyesight still stuck in the 80s :)

I heard a row of college kids supportively chanting Augeri's name over and over during the UTR tour in 2002.
Though I think they were trying hard to appear irreverently hip or cynically anti-establishment or...err...something.

Any luck posting that footage yet? What did you shoot it with? (Cell phone, dig camera, camcorder)

There is no doubt about our division this year. 3 potentially excellent teams. Congrats you guys on your season last year. I was just busting balls last night over a few beers.

I know how much fun it is when your team wins the big one.

They thought Perry had finally reached puberty during his 20 year hiatus...

Just curious. I have said for years that, because of the ownerships low spending and not-so-stellar talent that he's had to work with, Bill Cowher has been the best coach in the NFL for, at least, the past 10 years...

How much more faith do you Ravens fans have in Bilick(sp)??? He was starting to make the same mistake Cowher almost did; putting too much faith in a poor QB (Bowler for you, Stewart for Cowher).

I would have to agree there. He may even be THE best coach in the league. He did have that one stretch where I thought his job might be in danger, he overcame that and moved on to even greater success.

Billick is well liked, but on shaky ground with the fans here. Of course winning a Super Bowl helped his popularity. But just as impressive was him guiding the Ravens to a 7-9 season after our salary cap purge 2 years later.

He is very accessible and media friendly, (I've met him several times) but the fan base has grown tired of his stubborness (Boller) and cliches. Another 6-10 season like last year and the fans will turn on him completely. He has one more free pass, and that is this season.

Have the Steelers put the Lombardi trophy on display yet? When I had my pic taken with ours it was on draft day the following season. They took it all over town, to sports bars, parties, you name it. Pretty much anyone who wanted to touch it was able to.

I'm sure they have. I know they also added a replica of Bettis' locker in the big fan area at the new stadium...
Because of military life, the last time I was in Pittsburgh 3 Rivers Stadium was still standing :(

Well, if you get really bored, here's a link to the photos of the trip to Pittsburgh that my wife and I took for the JRNY, Styx, REO concert a few years ago. Lots of pics at the Pirates game (fireworks night)and at Heinz Field too. No pics from the concert though. The Pirates stadium is the nicest ballpark I have ever seen.

Absolutely. We do have the best division in football!

They Ravens let me hold the trophy.

What sucks is, that I went to the official unveiling where I stood with it on a mount. When they took it to the sports bars, they just handed the fucker to ya! I held it that way, but didn't bring a camera that night.
