What exactly is it that is said in the very beginning? It sounds like Perry is singing backwards.

Oooh he's always adding muffled whispers.
I'll have to listen to Message of love
Another song
Think it;s
Once In A Lifetime Girl
the middle caught me by surprise once while I was driving
Never heard it quite that way before
Thought it sounded like
Christine, I love you
I will always love you
Must have listened to it a miillion times
I think it's really
Steve, I love you
I will always love you
Whatever, it's just pillow talk
mellowed thoughts whispered in song
Like a dream it comforts you in the night
but what do you hold on to in the wake of morning's light

I finally got around to buying the Trial by Fire album recently...
....and it really intrigues me. I liked it a lot.... it actually hiked up there with Escape and Frontiers, in my book. Their rockier songs on there (Message of Love, Can't Tame the Lion, and ONE MORE especially) were incredible.... I think nearly every song on here was spot-on! My favorite on the album has to be Still She Cries.... WOW.

Somewhere, on some site, I think, this exact same topic was brought up. Damn, I can't remember where it is !

Trial By Fire is a very powerful and profound CD
I am very thankful they got together and gave it to us!

I thought this was asked a while ago on BT (probably been pruned by now) and that it was the words "message of love" played backwards.

It's supposed to be "Message of Love" backwards. That's right. A backwards message on a Journey song.

A Beatles reference, I love it.
REVOLUTION #9 ~ The White Album
Played forward "Number nine, number nine..." but backwards it says "Turn me on dead man, turn me on dead man..."

Neal hates that disc. Told me flat out that it just doesn't go anywhere. I agree. Shows how we all hear things differently.

Schon just isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer! I heard that somewhere and I agree. He's so dumb that he doesn't even realize that his best work is Classic Journey. It's all he'll ever be recognized for. imo.
