Anyone catch DSB being played after coming out of a commercial break during the 49ers game yesterday. It was after Alex Smith hooked up with Antonio Bryant for a long TD pass. Very appropriate for niners fans after the seasons we have had to go throught the last 4 or so years.

The sad part was the announcer said, trying to make a joke, that Bryant had been listening to solo Steve Perry before the game, and that basically came across as DSB being a Perry solo song. What an ass. If you don't know what you are talking about, just don't say anything. :x

So what? For the past couple of decades, Perry has been called Journey, when a Journey song is on the radio. Half the time they even say it's Journey when Foolish Heart or OSherrie is played.

It bothers me and I am sure some others also. I would have made the same comment if they had played Strungout or Foolish Heart and said that was Journey.

Again these are professional commentators, so if they don't know what they are talking about, then just don't say anything.[/quote]

Come on! They probably did it on purpose. Most people just feel that Perry is Journey. Just giving credit where THEY feel that credit is due.

They are sports commentators not music critics, cut them some slack.

I saw/heard the Journey mention during the Niner game as well.
The broadcaster did NOT insinuate that DSB was a Perry solo song.

What happened was, they were playing DSB upon returning from commercial break, and he mentioned that Antonio Bryant (who had just scored the touchdown moments earlier) was a big "Journey guy", and in fact "listens to Steve Perry in his iPod before games".
He did mention Perry by name, but being as he already had mentioned Journey, it didn't come across as him trying to call DSB a Perry solo effort.
