That's PURE F-ING BRILLIANCE
Utterly fabulous show and so much to talk about, but its midnight and we just got back home...
Only a true great can fall on their ass and continue the show without missing a heartbeat (yes, it was raining up to and during some of the show).
Getting lots of pix and stuff to talk about.
No contact with DL as yet...I'm told they are uncomfortable with me being there, so I stayed clear.
More later!

You'd think they'd take the high road and at least try to get things out in the open to air out.....

Hey! Old men have to be careful! They might break a hip.

Give the man a purple heart!
As for DL......Fuggem!

I was ready to leave after the Journey set, anyway. I had seen all there was to see.

Yeah,
It was pouring before the show, but let up a bit before the first song. But there was still some light rain during the first couple of songs. Jeff was out on the apron running around as usual and slipped on the wet stage during "Stone in Love", I think. He landed on his butt and sat there smiling at the audience. After he got back up, he said "Oh man, I'm gonna be on my ass all night!"
A couple of songs later, he was out there again and slipped but didn't fall. He stood there smiling and shook his finger at the audience as if to say "Almost got me again, but not this time."
There was no more rain for the rest of the night, but even Joe Elliott commented about Jeff's fall, and said that he was gonna have to tip-toe around the front of the stage because everything was so wet.
Jeff actually turned it into kind of a fun moment that everyone got a smile out of.

Cool, thanks for the report. Did Elliott ever slip, or is he not very mobile?

Andrew,
Sounds like you are having fun! I hope that you get your pics up when you can.
So what if DL doesn't like to hear that you are around. They should grow up and put this stupid thing to rest once and for all.
And JSS, I wonder if his tookus is still smarting from the fall last night. Leave it to Jeff tho, to put some humor into the show ! What a showman he is !

Nah, Joe never slipped. I think after everyone saw Jeff go down, they saw that they really had to take it easy on the front part of the stage. But since Journey was set up in front of Lep's gear, they pretty much HAD to use more of that slippery apron. When the Leps came out, they could hang out back under the main stage where it was a bit drier. They had stage guys out there with squeegees before both sets to try and move some of the water away.
But I think in general, Jeff gets around a little more than Joe does.

Okay, R2D2, spill your guts.....we're all waiting for the reviews on the show and none posted anywhere yet that have details. What was the set list? did JSS sing to anyone in the audience? did the audience go crazy? were there any big announcements or special guests? give us some juice.....

R2D2 - that's funny.
The set list was the same as most of the other shows. The only notable, and important, change was the addition of "I'll Be Alright Without You" which replaced "Who's Crying Now". I bet they've been reading the feedback on the soundcheck version that folks have seen on JSS's site, and they added it. Jeff said it's the first time they have played it this tour. And I gotta say, one of the best songs of the night. Jeff was able to put a lot of soul into that one, and it really came off well.
Jeff did stop in the middle of the show and talked about having dreams. And to paraphrase he said something to the effect of how he grew up twenty minutes from there and to be able to sing for his mother at the Hollywood Bowl was a dream come true. He then pointed her out in the crowd, and the place went pretty nuts. They then sang "Lights", and with all the lyrics about "I wanna be there in my city...", which LA really is Jeff's, he seemed to be tearing up a little at the end of the song. Correct me if I'm wrong, JSS. It was a really great moment.
Tim McGraw did come out with Def Leppard for "Pour Some Sugar on Me", but he didn't really do anything. They didn't give him a verse to sing or anything. He just kinda made his way up to the drum riser, sort of ignoring the rest of the band, grabbed a spare drumstick out of Rick's bag and proceeded to bang on cymbals for 90 per cent of the song. The band just sort of performed as if he wasn't there. He did sing during the chorus, but was slow-moving and lethargic. It was really kinda weird. He then sorta wandered off after the song was over and disappeared behind the stage. Whatever...

Better than even (*gasp*) Toto?
Andrew is like some gum twirling, vacant-headed blonde groupie when it comes to Toto.
He has ruined innumerable pairs of perfectly-good dungarees at the re-curring fantasy of Lukather tenderly serenading him.
Only then, in comparison to Drew's favorite band of all time, can we get an accurate sense of what he thought of the Journey show.

You guys should see Mac in action.
It is very different than what you might think.
Currently, Mac has the Vinnie Barbarino look happening. It was an interesting night to say the least. Personally, not one of my finer moments at all. I had the asshole meter way up there. Ended up spilling 2 Giant Hienekens, throwing a few punches with DL fans (pussies) in the bathroom, slipped on my ass due to the wet concrete, argued with Lula, argued with people associated with the band, argued with ushers, told one particular usher I was going in a particular door and he couldn't stop me, and he didn't, missed three shuttle busses back to hotel, told driver he smelled like a cat box, removed from bus, caught next bus, got stranded in hotel for 3 hours with NO ride, and to top it off, pissed off some band members, and Tech members. I am beyond apologies. I am considering suicide.
All in all, I had a pretty bad night.
PS-My hatred for Euros climbed exponentially by 20 last night.

So, differnet than you might think - that has me curious mate - what did you expect and what did you see?
