Froy, give him a call. Tell him to show up & I'm there. In fact, I'm there whether he's there or not!

What a great video and song :)

You know Steve P. is welcomed back anytime. I'm sure we'll be seeing him more in 2007, hopefully!!

Well what is it? You're SURE he will be seen in 07, or you're hopeful?

Come on Laurie!

Totally agree--wish Steve Perry could be out there with the guys!!! Since he's not, though, I'm really starting to get jazzed about seeing JSS. I've been checking out some of his Journey and Queen covers, and although initially I was a little skeptical, I'm feeling it now. It's gonna be a great show on 11/10!!!!

That said, I'm like you guys who are waiting ever so patiently for something new in '07 by the "Incomparable Mr. Perry" (I know, I'm asking for it...)

Agree.......but I don't think that performance could be duplicated ever again, even with Perry and the boys.........musically and vocally they were all completely spot on.......magic! If Perry keeps pumping out the classic dvds and/or does a solo cd and JSS comes on board..........I'll be a happy camper! :D

You don't think he's welcomed back? I thought that he was always welcomed back. I'm pretty hopeful that he'll be seen in 2007. From looking at the pictures he's sure changing a lot since last year

I hope he does something, anything!!

Dean come on! Perry is THE BEST! Just ask Jeff. Perry is incomparable.

God I love him doing Mother Father. No one, absolutely no one, sings like he did. Roll on '07 & PLEASE GOD let Stevie sing again for us.

Oh, he'll be seen. He'll be seen at a baseball game. He'll be seen entering/exiting a movie theater. He'll be seen eating dinner. He'll be seen at the star on the WOF.

He will NOT be seen publicly singing with a mic in his hand on stage.

here's an interview with sp from last year. he had a cold or something so his nose is stuffy... damn... even sp breathing is hot. tehehee. he sings a little... just a tad but it sounds good to me. with a stuffy nose and all he's still on pitch. sp can still bring it. i see him like i see my guitar. a little dusty & out of tune maybe but with a little love it still puts out a beautiful sound. }:C))

Neil would crawl on his hands and knees to get Perry back
I totally disagree with you here Dean unless your saying you do not welcome him back.
Do you know how much money a Steve Perry Journey would generate?
Add a Dennis DeYoung Styx as a double bill and you would have a hot show for 2007
Heck Andrew just posted that David Lee Roth is headed back to Van Halen you never know 07 could be the reunion year for many bands.

Those were magical times. I don't think it's fair to compare ANYTHING to those days - pure perfection (except when Perry messed words up on some songs LOL).

Soto is a VAST improvement to Augeri - not much of a comparison there, either.

We all know that there will never be another Perry. Even Steve himself, today, can't recreate those spectacular times.

I am so grateful for Jeff, because in the year 2006, he is the only salvation for Journey.

But 1978 - 1982 will always be special to me.

Yup...that's at the beginning of Part 4. He riffs on Frank Sinatra - "New York, New York". Great stuff; thanx for this...haven't heard it in a while.

Part 5 is very interesting / revealing....especially this:

"...It was a different time, man - we had a mission and a group (long sigh)......I emotionally, uh.....was unstoppable....uh....my Mother was alive; was pulling for me...my Father, though they weren't together, was pulling for me...my Grandfather was alive...the whole landscape of that has changed...and uh - y'know, you lose - you lose some of the incentive that you didn't realize was driving you, y'know? To - to do - to do good....to do it....to DO it.

Now that it's been DONE, now lookin' BACK at it...it's - it's - I'm TRYIN' my best to DIGEST IT."

[later on, he talks about the DVD]

"...When I heard "Open Arms", I got choked-up because there's certain vocal things I did in "Open Arms" I'm not sure I'll be able to pull off exactly like that AGAIN. Because it was such a MOMENT - and I had reached BEYOND the Master recordings to what I knew it COULD be, and I was ALWAYS doing that, and DAMNED if I didn't grab, for instance, the lyric in the 2nd verse: "Wanting you near..." ....that lyric is sung exactly the way I wanted it to be sung - and I DIDN'T KNOW I hit it - I didn't know I GOT it."

You mean Neal?

I welcome him back, sure. But I don't think Neal does.

Trainloads, not truckloads, but trainloads of Bank. Yeah, I did the math. I believe after one tour, they could buy Namibia, Niger and Argentina with their tour sales.

Add a Dennis DeYoung Styx as a double bill and you would have a hot show for 2007

Cack! No thanks. If I want to see an opera, or a ballet with faggy dudes, I will go see the Poodle.

Heck Andrew just posted that David Lee Roth is headed back to Van Halen you never know 07 could be the reunion year for many bands.

You should know that anything in VH is not set until they actually set foot on a stage. And then, the tour will probably be cut short due to in-fighting.

AR,

That was flippin AWESOME!!!!! Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with Deen's version of Faithfully, but he totally nailed Mother, Father!!! If I didn't see if for myself, I would have sworn that was Mr. Perry himself!!!!

Will Deen be singing that on November 10???

Sorry but It may say JRNY on the ticket but its far from it
And to sing such a powerfull song behind a drum kit is ridiculous.

Perry has power and range. But it's the emotion he conveys that sets him apart from other very talented singers for me. He lives his songs.

JR from your lips to God's ears...we are all hoping and wanting that...He will never sing with Journey again, but we have a new lead singer that brings it on...There is no voice like Steve Perry's...it is unique, he has chrisma and a certain sex appeal, has talent and was a great frontman....unfortunately his voice is not the same, but as we age, our voice gets lower and deeper, but he still has that Perry sound in his voice that no one has or will ever have.....I loved TBF and almost anything the band did...there are some songs I don't like which is natural, but mostly I enjoy listening to all the cd's.. JMHO

Sorry, but did you actually watch that clip of Deen singing Mother Father? I am a total Perry fan, but I am extremely impressed with that clip of AR's. Froy, can you really say you don't see some of Perry's passion in that performance?

OHHHHHHHHHH, you should have heard it live....I had to sit down and cry----words cannot explain what that song sounds like when Deen sings....I thought only Perry could do that song justice, but Deen did it better and while drumming...if anoyone has not seen it live, they should SHUT THEIR MOUTHS and not do a comparison until then.... :(
