Which is all the more reason Journey looks like complete fools by delaying an announcement that everyone has already known for many months. Journey's fan base isn't what it was 25 years ago, so they should do their best to hold on to the loyal fans they do have. It just seems silly to keep delaying what has already been quasi-announced in a million other places! Let's hope that someone smartens up in the Journey camp and gives Andrew the green light very soon. I assume that once Andrew gets the green light, that will mean that Journey has "officially" announced on their "official" website that Augeri is out and Jeff is the new, permanent lead singer of Journey.

This is the little news blurb I got this morning:
Journey and Def Leppard finished up their wildly successful North American tour last night (Sunday, November 19th) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After all the shows they did together, it's amazing to think the whole thing almost collapsed early on because Journey singer Steve Augeri (pronounced aw-JEER-ee) had to drop out for medical reasons. Journey thought about packing it in and going home, but guitarist Neal Schon got them to check out Jeff Scott Soto, who sang with Schon's side band Soul Sirkus. Keyboardist Jonathan Cain said that Soto worked out better than anyone could have hoped: "Jeff came out and started, and we just threw him to the wolves, and he went out there and somehow got it done, and I was like, 'Whoa, that's astonishing.' And night after night, he kept getting better and better, you know? And then, you know, we had a coupla shows where he absolutely slayed the audience -- I mean, they just were, like... roared with approval."
There's been no word yet on whether Soto is now a permanent member of Journey, but he's in the new publicity photos for the band's European tour in March.

It's not Journey's fault John, nor is it their management's fault. They would LOVE to announce that Jeff is in & Augeri is out. But legal matters have got to be solved first. Please use ur brain. I know u have one.

Sorry JR...I'm not giving Journey a pass on this one. At the end of the day, Journey hires their attorneys, PR people (although I'm convinced they can't possibly have a PR team!), and whomever else they choose to work with. Even acquiescing to you on the point that attorneys have to get involved (don't the always?), it still should have been resolved before now! I think Rome was built faster than this

What if one party refuses to settle? Then, it goes on as long as it goes on. Or it goes to court. That would be really ugly & it would take even longer, possibly years. Nothing can be resolved until both parties agree.
Example: u & me are involved in a settlement over something. U want me to pay u $1000. I am offering u $50. We are a long way from each other. We start negotiating. U say u will take $800. I say I'll give u $80. It's going to take a long time for us to meet at a place we're both ok w/.

Folks i just got official word that Jeff Scott Soto is the new lead singer for Journey. I know, i know hes not well known here in the states but i have been assured by my insiders on the scene, that he is quite popular in Europe.Remember folks we have already had someone in our past that didnt make it here with his singing career but was a huge success in Europe.
Let hope JSS can be as popular or more than our beloved David H.------no worries folks , no worries at all

Is there any reason they can't just tell us that???? Telling us what their intentions are, even that there
are legal/financial matters to be settled, would at least be better than seemingly ignoring the fans. Now, I know they are ready to move on, and they know that we are ready to move on, but more of the same listlessness with announcements is not the best way to proceed. And holding up Andrew's interview just seems like more stall tactics. So...come on guys.

Lawyers never let people speak about things publicly.
& I believe Andrew said HE held up the interview of his own accord & as a courtesy to the band.

It's really frightening to read that.
Hey Deano, how many times did u meet Augeri? Are u his best bud like those freaks? Ya know, I bet Deano met him more times than any of them.
Hey I met the guy. I guess I know his character then. Shit, these people don't seem to get that was Augeri's job! He was getting paid to be pleasant to fans. Do u expect the salesperson at The Gap (pardon the obvious pun here) to be rude to u? No because they are being paid to SERVE u.
It's really frightening how these people worship Augeri. I love Perry. But I don't think he's above being human. Journey needs to get some shrinks on retainer. These people will lose it when the announcement comes.
