Doesn't always happen with Ravens-Steelers, but hopefully it will this Sunday. :P

Winning and losing is irrelevant as I always feel bad for the team that scores less. My wife and I are teaching our child that winning and losing doesn't matter as long as you give it your all.

LMAO!! yes I sure wish it were touch football!!

EMBARASSING. What the fuck was that shit? Whole season is on the line and they come out like that? Did they even bother to make up any kind of gameplan? Cowher stands on the sideline like a fuckin moron. Got his Superbowl so you lay down? That's not Steeler football. Fuck that shit. We get another chance at that fluke of a game. Hopefully we end the Superbowl party and realize it's 2006 not 2005. Fuckin idiots.

They haven't been hungry all year. That can happen when you win it all.

Found this take from another Steelers fan:

Demoralized. Destroyed. Debacle. Pummeled. Demolished. Decimated. Pulverized. Humiliated. Devastated. These are many adjectives that can be used to define what type of day it was for the defending World Champion Steelers, but the best word is SACKED, because that’s one word that will describe Ben Roethlisberger’s day as he took nine of them in the demoralizing loss to the first place Baltimore Ravens by the score of 27-0.

If you want to truly get technical we can move down to the idiom part of the thesaurus for the word destroy. Blow to bits. Bring to an end. Dispose of. Tear to shreds. These phrases can also work if you want to breakdown the total team effort displayed today on the part of the Steelers. No adjusting to what was shown to them, no elevating of players efforts, no way to swallow this one easily cause it was plainly and simply UGLY from start to finish.

The Steelers played with no heart, no emotion in what could be up there with the ugliest losses in franchise history. The offensive line couldn’t block anyone as the Ravens sent blitzers on virtually every play and after four quarters of seeing it the lineman’s heads are probably still spinning. Marvell Smith had one of the worst showings for an offensive lineman as he was out worked, out muscled and even out witted play after play. The same goes for the rest of that line, as they couldn’t give Roethlisberger any semblance of anything close to having time in the pocket. There was no pocket all day for Roethlisberger to throw and they were out schemed and out played all afternoon. No quarterback Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas or Terry Bradshaw would be able to sustain the type of pressure that was thrown at Roethlisberger on this day.

Steve McNair and the Ravens had a great showing as they out performed the Steelers lackluster defense. Their play in this game and for a good part of this season has been inconsistent in many aspects. The cornerback position was horrible once again today as they continue to let receivers have five and ten yard cushions to catch the ball. They commit dumb penalties in bad situations and cannot figure out when to go up to help with run support or when to stick with your coverage.

The Ravens now move to the forefront as being one of the AFC’s finest teams with a record of 9-2, while these lowly Steelers sink to 4-7 and now have to play for pride for the remainder of the 2006 campaign.

The Super Bowl party is certainly over and now with seven losses there is no way the Steelers can even think of belonging in the playoffs. They will join the list with the 2001 Patriots, 2003 Buccaneers, and 1998 Broncos as the only teams to win Super Bowls and not even make the playoffs the following season.

Truly sad...
Folks can jump on Big Ben all they want but this year
isn't entirely his fault. Granted, I still believe he
is suffering lingering effects from all the different things
he's gone thru in the pst 5-6 months; life-threatening accident, concussion,
appendix removal, severe fever...
He's gone thru more in the past 6 months than some guys do
over a career. Maybe his rehab ws rushed.
Maybe they should've st him for 3-4 games after the concussion...
Fct remains that the O-Line is an embarrassment. The big Pittsburgh D
is getting man-handled, the running game is like Jeckyl & Hyde
and there are just too many injuries (Ward, Polamolu...)

If I were Cowher, I'd sit Ben for the rest of the season, let him rest, get healthy
and have him studying game tape til his eyes fell out of his skull.
batch is making good money, let him earn some of it.

Big questions arise next year:
What to do with Staley?
Is Davenport a keeper? (I say Hell yea)
If so, how do they get him the ball more?
Who will be Cowher's Heir? I say Whisenhut...
Kind looks like "The Jaw" so he is already a good fit :)
Where do we get a better reciever to compliment Ward?
Will Holmes work out?
Waht the hell will be done with the secondary?

...It's gonna be a long off-season.
And what really sucks is that I will be watching ALL of next season
on the Armed Forces Network over in Iraq!
