This was kind of a rush job so if there are any rough places I apologize. It's all there though.

I left the new version of "I Can See It In Your Eyes" in because it's new and also a funny Geico commercial with Burt Bacharach that made me LOL. (It's realllly brief)

Other than that I edited out all the songs and commercials as best I could.

Also, here's a short mp3 of Neal confirming that "When You Love A Woman" was recorded as a live take. :P

Perfect, thanks for the download mate - but there was nothing of substance in that chat with Steve at all :(

I guess it's just nice for us 'loons' to hear from him...

Well, I guess if we don't expect anything, we can't be disappointed when nothing happens. Which of course we can't say about the other guys right now, huh?? Still waiting patiently though...

Got that right Donna! The way I see it, these bits and pieces are better than him being retired and not hearing from him at all in the last few years. Personally, I think he's still got it going on. :) And Jeremy thanks for posting the interview. 8)

He sounds great! Energetic and inspired, and seems to be looking forward to something new. I'm gonna show my ignorance here and say I didn't really get the "Hey Jude" reference, cause I'm not that familiar with the song, but what I took from it was a kinda "it's now or never" attitude, and he's choosing 'now'. Anybody else get that, or am I just an ignorant fool??

I enjoyed Perry's interview, and I'm very glad he DID it. There was some funny moments in the interview, like when he talked about being in his car listening to ROR and he would crank it up, but would turn it down because someone driving next to him might notice HIM having fun listening to his own music.

Now I think that would be cool thing to see Perry driving in his car listening to his music! :D

I got a chuckle out of Creedy talking him into coming to Houston for next game and Steve telling him...but I don't have tickets. Creedy: I don't think tickets are going to be a problem dude! He's just too damn cute.

ABSOLUTELY agree! I don't expect much anymore from anything/anyone, I'm SO much less dis-appointed these days.

Me too! I imagine pulling up at a red light next to a car that's blaring "Anyway You Want It" and I roll down my window and go, "Yeah, man! Journey!!" and the guy behind the wheel of the other car is Steve Perry. That would be hilarious and surreal. lol

Thanks everybody, for your thankses. I'm glad you got to hear the interview.

The "Hey Jude" thing references the"na na na's" coming in at the end of the song. So Steve's saying that he's in his "twilight years" I guess. I loved his comment though, "turn those MF'ers up!!"

Thanks a lot Jeremy....Perry sounds on great form...and I might be wrong about this but isn't this the first time he has been so open about the singer's equivalent of 'writer's block'?

I can't remember him talking about "creative dread" before...or how he can't summon up the best performance when he has no audience...how he can't find the right inspiration when he's just in front of a microphone in a studio on his own....

Except - of course - he didn't go into why he doesn't go out there and do a concert in that case.....

Also - I didn't know that "Anyway You Want" it was inspired by Thin Lizzy - minor nerdy point but interesting to me anyway...

And yes - the Hey Jude anology was funny...and a promising sign - maybe - that he was saying the "na nas" at the end of that song (his twilight years) needed to be turned up loud. This - and the Guff record too - show that he still has so much energy and enthusiasm...

I liked it when UJB was gently ribbing Perry about getting out there again too...

So - we're still not any wiser than we were before - but it's always a pleasure to listen to Perry cracking jokes and telling anecdotes....

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but aren't you frustrated that he teases about recording something substantial but doesn't deliver?

No, because I'm over it, he's probably never going to deliver again. I love what he gave us and it is what it is. He said in his interview, the fans inspired him to sing like that....and that time has probably passed forever. If he does something new solo that will be an awesome gift, but I'm learning not to judge....notice I said learning, not completely there yet. 8)

Good perspective. I guess Perry can't bring himself to close the studio door forever. I can understand that.

NIG, I don't think I have ever heard Steve himself tease about recording something substantial, that is more the fans doing. Ya have to give the man credit though, he's the ultimate tease.......still has fans hanging on his every word and women lapping at his feet. He's not a stupid man and he's also just cool as hell.
