Will Jeff get to land some of the Arrival or Generations?

In the interviews, Jeff stated that they are looking forward to more NEW Journey and kind of getting away from the "dirty dozen". I was wondering when they tour in '08, will they still play the dozen along with promoting their new album via concert? I don't see why they can't play these songs in an all Journey concert. Also, songs like Higher Place, All the Way, FITH, I know he sang FITH once already, but will he pursue some of these songs on their upcomming lists? I'd love to hear these songs JSS style..

It'd be nice to see FITH or Never Too Late (although obviously Jeff wouldn't sing those). I doubt anything from Arrival would be played again, but it'd be nice to see one or two tracks from Generations stay in the set for awhile.

I would hope that the band don't expel tracks from Arrival and Generations from the live set for good.

There are certainly songs on both albums that deserve to be on the set list of Journey most of; if not all; of the time.
By that I'm meaning Higher Place, Signs of Life and Faith in the Heartland.
Journey songs that stand up against all the other songs that are played every gig IMO.

FITH was awesome when Journey played it in Edinburgh last June and although JSS is a different vocalist to Augeri, IMO Journey would be foolish to drop that song from live sets, esp over here as most people have the 2 most recent albums and will be hoping to hear some songs off both. Higher Place with Jeff singing it would be awesome IMO as well.

Jeff is a vocalist with just enough grit to do a killer live version of "Higher Place".

I still challenge anyone to post a live bootleg where that song sounds remotely good.

I'm waiting, too.

The abrupt out-of-nowhere Arrival ending has it all over that by-the-numbers, drum/guitar orgy thing every live band does to end songs.

Good question!
I'd still like for 'Walking Away From the Edge' & 'Loved By You' to get some play sometime somewhere. And I think that JSS could bring a whole lot to those songs. However, the Perry-esqe legal issues come to mind. Does SA have any grip on those songs like SP did with all his-era Journey songs? Not sure it would have any bearing on doing them live, but you never know any more about separation details.

Btw, I'd like to hear JSS do 'Castles Burning'. That's got some funk and soul that he could nail masterfully.

later~

I'd like to hear JDouble on The Time, Higher Place, State Of Grace, The Place In Your Heart and Faith In The Heartland.

They should also let Castronovo do A Better Life, along with either F or OA.

I think the version they did on the CBS morning show is really good. Plus it's soundboard.

I'll youtube it soon.

I'd like to see that. I never saw anything from that CBS Morning Show appearance, although I hear I didn't miss much. I'd still like to see it though.

I have that and it is atrocious.
They played HP, AWYWI and DSB.
Each one more of a desecration than the next.
In fact, after it aired, current lineup fans rapidily made excuses for the god-awful performance...claiming the band had played a late set the night before.

I have no idea why you'd want to post that.
