OT: American Idol

OK...whos gonna watch?.....I like the first shows were they show the wild and crazy people....some that will do anything to get on TV. Some that actually think they sound good and believe it! ....some you cant bare to sit through....and some that are hilarious. Some are sad, though, and you feel for them. They never show any of the ones who will make it to the top 12 until they get to the Hollywood shows. With Paula Abdul getting increasingly drunken in more interviews and on talk shows it should make for an interesting season. She was pretty lit on several AI shows last year.

...and what is your take on what AI says of the music industry ?...In the beginning musicians put that show down and claimed not to watch it...but now they're all clammering to get on it for the exposure.!...It sure put a boost in Prince's record sales last year.

We always try to catch the beginning episodes of the show just for kicks. But if we get more of this from Paula this year, it will be a damned interesting season!

that's the one, jrny1

I admit it's a guilty um, pleasure? I laugh a lot if nothing else at the beginning shows.

I dunno if Paula is actually drunk in this video, giving her somewhat of a benefit of the doubt, her posture more looks like someone in the beginning stages of having MS, than being drunk on live TV.

I have to admit I can't not watch AI. It's just such a fun guilty pleasure.

I think an announcement of her entry into Rehab. is due any moment. poor Paula.......

I'm not saying she's not, but she appears to ME to have the early symptoms, if you go by some of her "jerkiness", for lack of a better term.

Hell, if I had to put up with Simon, I'd be drunk off my ass every single night.

Lord knows it keeps people talking about the show, so if nothing else, it's good for ratings.

If she's drunk, she looks like she would be fun to be around!! I've never seen American Idol so I don't know what she's really like, but I thought she was kinda cute... :)

WOW, that is so sad to see.....I really like Paula and enjoy her on Idol, but she needs some serious medical help....I know she has had many surgeries on her neck and is in constant pain...maybe too many pain pills....?

BTW, Idol tonight was a riot....hope everyone watched...

I wish Idol would be serious about music instead of poor behavior to get ratings to sell commercials. Tell me where Jewel is in a few yrs and the same with Paula's short career. Simon is a genious laughing all the way to the bank and Randy I hope is well paid ,but at least he has some credibility. That show could be so good with qualified guest judges. I will tune in the last 2 weeks as per usual or to see what their big mid yr surprise is going to be. The show is getting to be a reality type show and not much about music.

Wow! Some of that was pretty painful tonight! I guess I can singer better then I thought!....well...at least compaired to some of that! ......

ya know, tonight's show reminded me of just how few talented people there are out there.

I had to laugh the way Simon went after the kid who "sang like Daughtry", for being too one dimensional. That MF flip flops like I dunno what. Before Daughtry came along he'd tell people you ahve to change it up every week, then CD comes on the show and he is grateful to have someone not willing to compromise the way they delvier their songs (read, being one dimensional) which was great to Simon, then he's back this year to being against people who aren't willing to change.

It's a train wreck, and yes I wasted 2 (more) hours of my life watching yet another episode. Just like I will the rest of the month. 2 nights a week.

Did anyone ever notice how the popular songs from prvious seasons are alway the most sung (or shown) in auditions the next time around?

Nah.... I am just not interested in it. Most of the music today I don't listen to...... except for one new band I heard at the ARF show. I went out and bought their cd. For a young group, they had my attention during the show, and the music was great ! :D

yea, that's a big pink slip for going HOME. just like if you try to pull off a whitney, celine or pattie tune. just don't try that shit unless you can deliver.
by that way, that pre crack whitney.

With the slurring of speech and jaw contortions like that, she is obviously overdosed on Vicodin or another opiate-based painkiller.
