Cribbing Journey song snippets, DJ remixes, and the Internet

I posted the following in my "Don't Stop Rave-ing" thread a while ago (which was met with MUCH resistance, btw...:oops:...it's all good... 8) )

Here's my question:

Is the Internet "too powerful a beast" to be stopped, from a Legal standpoint?

I mean, this guy cribbed the now-famous piano opening-phrase to DSB, and built his Techo, Tribal-thing around it....is it now just too much of a hassle and/or headache to go after EVERY "DJ Joe" that does this?

Lora, if you're out there....the guys must be well-aware of this, right? Do they have any ways & means to go after them / stop this practice?

Yes, I'm using Journey in this instance, because it's a Journey Board....but, there's other songs/artists that have been used in this manner, too...
