The Magic

I haven't been here in a while because, basically, there hasn't been much to talk about. With Jeff coming in and posting Keep On Running I had to respond. So, indulge me if you will.

I just watched a couple of Perry/Journey Youtube clips. Simply magic - no one can deny that. What is shocking is that those days were around 25 years ago. That makes me feel a little sad in a weird way. Maybe it just makes me feel old.

The phenomenal "growth" of Jeff's voice over the past year is our last chance at grabbing that magic again. I am a Perry fanatic, and I make no bones about it. Perry IS Journey to me. That said, I can't believe the effect Journey is having on me these days with Jeff singing.

I have said before that I am finally excited about Journey again. It actually goes beyond that. I do miss Smith as well, but Neal, Ross, Jon, Deen and Jeff are enabeling me to grab hold of part of my youth. A great deal of the magic that was Journey with Perry is alive again. In fact, I listened to a Soto/Journey concert on the way home today and couldn't believe how great the music sounds.

I am no one, but from this one fan in Knoxville, TN I want Journey to know how grateful I am.

Jeff and Deen - you are not replacements any longer in my eyes. You are Journey. If you come within 100 miles of Knoxville, I am there - it will be my first Journey concert and I will count it a priviledge to be in the audience.

Jeff, thank you for restoring the Voice to Journey.

knox,

I do feel the same way you do. I am a Perry fan, but lost connection with them due to real life taking me into places I wouldn't of dreamed of living in. When I finally started searching out Journey again, I had seen that Perry had left, and Augeri was in his place. Being a Perry fan, I just couldn't get into the Augeri era of Journey. I tried to, I even got Arrival and Generations from a friend, but still couldn't get excited about Journey like I was before.

Now enter Jeff. All I can say is WOW! Jeff's inclusion in Journey has me all excited again for the band once again. Yes, it is just like when Perry was in the band. The level of excitement is the same. I can separate both eras, and enjoy them both. It does take me back to when I was younger, and that I do like. But let me say this, feeling this way doesn't make me feel old at all ! I am not ready for the rocking chair yet, and neither is Journey ! :D

CRL and Knox

Said so well and I feel the same way....could not get into SA era...I tried too, have both Arrival DVD and Gen. CD but they do nothing for me...some songs I like but not the way I like SP era Journey...

Now, Oh what we have to look forward too....Jeff Scott Soto rocks the earth, just Steve Perry and we are so lucky to have him with our favorite band.

So may I ask?

Anyone miss Augeri?

I didn't think so.

Waiting patiently for that libel/defamation suit coming my way. Can't wait to read it. I would love to pummel that POS into the ice...IF he played hockey.....but we know he doesn't because he is a make up artist in real life.

I have always been Journey and (as all know) I've always been JSS....but watching those 2 shows in California late last year was beyond amazing.
The energy and the soul - priceless.

And the crowd was totally into it...totally. There is definitely an excitement with this line up and it is all there for the band's taking. They just have to work it some more, deliver a knockout album of NEW material and then slay!

I right there with Knox, Sallee and Carol. Jeff his bringing new life to Journey and it's fans.

Now I hope they'll take Andrew's advice and use this momentum to get a great new CD out and heard.

Dude, they are even better now, if you can believe that.

I want you to go on the record, publicly...

Tell me who was better in California, Journey or Def Lippard? Come on, don't pussy out and spin...Go on record.

Andrew isn't done yet. I want that fuzzy foreigner to hop a bird, and wing on over to Quaker America, and hang with me, the MR community, and that butt ugly queen(no, I will not capitalize queen).

There is going to be a party to end all parties. Trust me on this.

I love the excitement and the voice that Jeff brings to Journey. I'm more excited about Journey than I have been since Perry, and I REALLY liked Arrival. I liked Augeri and I feel bad that he lost it, but JSS has just brought the band to such another level!

Thanks for the confirmation, everyone. I know my post had the hint of cheese to it, but I was having a moment  .

I, too, am on pins and needles awaiting new material!

Someone get me a bootleg of a recent show, please!!!!!

I am still separating the two entities...Journey with SP and Journey with JSS. Even when they're singing the same songs. I'm not really re-living my youth when JSS sings. It's more like discovering something brand new.

I still (and always will) long for a Steve Perry-fronted Journey, but Jeff is GETTING IT DONE in a big way!!!! He's made me die-hard again!
