Hey, guys!

I was wondering if anyone had that video of Steve Perry on Conan O'brien where he was the paperboy. I need to show a friend.

Any help?

I never knew that existed. Searched for it on the internet and turned up nothing. I would like to see that too if someone has it.

I didn't something like happened, but if anyone finds it, I would love to see it too!

Milo, Steve was never on Conan. They did a skit in which a cardboard replica of Steve was the paperboy. I may have it somewhere, but I don't really think so. If I ever find it I'll let you know.

Hahahaha I haven't thought of this in forever.

The Cardboard Cut Out Steve enters the sketch and there was something about Steve being mad that nobody recognizes him.

Conan then assures Steve that he DOES recognize him. He calls Steve "The best damn bass player that Foreigner ever had." Then the Cardboard Cut Out Steve punches Conan.

They used an Escape era pic for the cut out, and I remember some people on BT saying how great Steve looked and how cool it was that he was growing his hair long. (They thought it was recent.)

I found this on a Japanese website while I was looking. Not sure who is responsible for that one. Hmmm.

Holy Crap!!! I would buy that book for the cover picture!!! Yummy!!!! I have never seen that outfit. I always liked the black and red thing, but that one is even better!!!

Some a**hole redneck down here in North Carolina (don't ask me how I wound up here) who writes for the local "entertainment" weekly (Creative Loafing), wrote a few years back, and I quote, that SP's voice "reminded [him] of a caterwauler singing while being castrated with a rusty knife". Now, I have nothing against fat people, but he is a fat, balding, disgusting slob who fancies himself an elitist (for instance, he thinks REM is the greatest band of all time...more on that later). My theory is as follows: while the rest of us were listening to Journey, going to makeout parties, and generally having a great time, Matt Brunson was sitting at home, eating doughnuts, playing Dungeons and Dragons and building catapults in his back yard. He resented those of us who were living it up, and the music that we all associated with those good times. Hence, he makes statements like that. I mean, there are a number of singers out there who have pretty great voices (only a few from the past decade and a half) whose music I don't like, but I will readily acknowledge their talents. Hell, some of the bands and performers I included on my "Best of" list were not necessarily my favourites, but you gotta give credit where it's due. I have a few friends who don't like Journey but will give kudos to SP and Neal for their talents.

Addendum: have you noticed that all those ads on VH1 Classic barely mention the other bands being inducted next week? It goes to show you. Journey belongs there, but then again, any group of morons (I mean, critics) who elect Debbie Harry and the Mamas and the Papas, whose overall contribution to music was negligible and whose talents left much to be desired, cannot be expected to see brilliance when it's right in front of their faces. The Sex Pistols have no business being there, but I like how they blew off the Hall. I guess the Pistols impacted the scene so much that their total lack of musicianship could be overlooked. To me, though, electing someone merely because they were the first to adapt a particular style does not validate that standard of recognition. After all, the proper football (soccer) hall of fame didn't elect the first mangy Scotch git who kicked a decapitated goat's head across the town square in 1350. Although I can safely assume his name was Angus McLeod.
