OT: REO Speedwagon's promotion for their new album...

...includes a radio station tour (like Journey did for the Arrival album, I assume) and playing the National Anthem at baseball Opening Day in both St. Louis and Kansas City. If they can get things like that lined up, I can't wait to see what promotion Journey will have.

Just got the news about it this morning, here's the detailed thing.

file:///D:/Kit/attachment.htm

My first thought was Journey...I am now curious too,Illini.Wondering how will J's Mgmt. handle the new album promotion wise.I hope they already have a plan.
They should be at least twice as smart as REO and also fast.

I just hope they learn from past mistakes and from other bands, too.

... and hopefully they'll wake up as far as Journey's concerned. The opportunity is right in front of them for the first time in a long time!

Journey will get the treatment the Eagles get compared to Journey now and REO will be getting to do radio interviews. WOOHOO!

If only the owners of the Cardinals would get smart and get some REAL musicians to sing the National Anthem. Sure they have great talent on the field, they just don't know good music.

They were on a local station this morning. Claimed they invented the power ballad. The station has played their new single a few times.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, givin Jon and STL manager Tony Larussa's relationship in ARF(Animal Rescue Foundation). However, Tony didn't have a very good night last night. No, the Cards losing wasn't the problem, this was:

I don't think Jon and Neal can ask Tony for help in getting them to play the SSB opening Day. Tony has bigger problems.

They are full of shit, but I am sure Journey won't mind if they have that distinction.

Yep, that's just what the Cards needed right before Opening Day. I've been watching them put up new World Championship signs at the stadium for the past few days, and now this happens. Dangit!

Dude, don't get your hopes up for a repeat or even a division title. Milwaukee and Cincinnati are both better this year. St Louis is really depleted and half the team is on IR.

Oh, believe me, I'm not under the delusion that they're going to go anywhere this year. It would just be nice if they could keep from embarrassing themselves. I really think that Milwaukee is the team to watch in the division for '07. The Suppan defection really hurt. Chicago spent a buttload of money, but hey, they're the Cubs. They'll collapse by June or July. Pittsburgh never does anything, Houston is on a downswing, and Cincinnati might surprise some people.

I'll be happy if the Cards finish third. Can't win 'em every year, I guess.

It ought to be fun watching Chicago. You know when it gets hot in July, and the Cubs lose 5 in a row, Lou Piniella is going to melt down and throw an epic tantrum.. I love that guy. I guarantee you he will blow a gasket and meltdown, throwing bases, kicking dirt on Umps, etc. He is classic.

He's a kick. It's too bad he was buried in Tampa for so long. It will be good having him in the division.

.093 is nothing. That .08 limit punishes people for virtually nothing. It's only good to pad lawyers' pockets.

Before anyone says it, I am not advocating drunk driving or saying it is ok. The old .10 limit was enough. The habitual dangerous drivers on the road are way above that.

Yeah dude, BUT, that .093 was a good 2 hours after the arrest. He allegedly blew in the Pig Pen 120 minutes later.

I love Tony though.

Yeah...it would've difficult for me to swing because I have two other people coming too. PM where you're staying and what time you're getting in Thursday. I'll book my flight accordingly. That is if there's anything scheduled for Thursday night. As it is now, we were planning on getting in kind of late. It's up for change though. I was assuming nothing was going on, and we were just planning on getting a good night's sleep before the mayhem of the Melee.
