Song-Inspired Goosebumps

I'm curious--has anyone listened to a song that they hadn't listened to in a LONG time and gotten goosebumps over it when they heard it? Eric Clapton's tribute to George Harrison (I can't remember the name of the show/album right off hand) included "Something" with Paul McCartney and when it came on, I got goosebumps up and down my arms... It felt awesome. Happen to anybody else, maybe?

(I hope this isn't a lame thread, either. :) )

Actually...I came back to Journey after a long lay off when I heard DSB at the end of Monster in 2003, I think it was. The multiplex I was in had these incredible speakers and when DSB came on it was pure goosebumps all over again and my old obsession was reactivated. :)

 Has Jonathan Cain actually recorded an album of Disney songs? Or are you being unkind about his ballads for Journey?

I'm sure it's a nice listen for your granddaughter but this record sounds way too schmaltzy...even for me. I might have to ditch my unbelievably stylish avatar in protest! :)

nope, keep the AVVIE. not one thing sexier than a man taking care of a child (he recorded this for his daughter). and if he's in black leather, all the better. 8) he has 2 PTA benefit cds that he did with his kid's school choir to raise money. I love the Christmas Shopping Blues. he with send them autographed if you ask.

Still They Ride and Only the Young are 2 songs that still give me goosebumps. Can't not turn those ones up when I hear them. Still They Ride for the shear soaring vocals and Only The Young for Perry's perfect vocal tone IMO. I don't know anything about singing.....like tone, pitch, key, etc. but to me the tone/pitch of his voice on that one is incredible.

Right from the get go, vocals don't get much better than that. :)

Another night in any town
You can hear the thunder of their cry
Ahead of their time
They wonder why

Just about any time I hear Journey on the radio it effects me that way. It doesn't matter if I've just listened to the same song on CD, there's just something special about hearing it on the radio. Especially if it's one they don't play all that often.

"Subdivisions" by Rush.....I heard the last half of it on the radio; realized how much I missed that song....went thru Mark's massive CD collection, found the "Signals" CD, and drove around with windows down and music UP! 8)

Major chill-factor....

Speaking of Clapton and chills: his main riff in "She's Waiting" absolutley flat out stone cold rocks.

Sweet and Simple still gets me. I have to say though, if I haven't heard Steve Perry in a little while hearing his voice gives me chills. As of late, Jeff singing Winds of March has sent chills up my spine.

Sweet and Simple for me too, Lu!

And then add Remember Me, It's Just the Rain, and When I Think of You..all those bring tears to my eyes.

Oh, and the ending of When You Love a Woman - the voice and the guitar together are tear jerkers too. Yup, I'm a dork! LOL

Rush went through a big change on that album and that particular song is masterfully crafted, in my opinion, with some awesome lyrics by Neil Peart.

That song itself is an answer to the very question it poses.

"Fovever? Jesus, 3 minutes and 40 seconds is MORE than enough of that."

Anything from Augeri makes my eyes well up....well up in seething anger, and total rage. Also they well up in embarrassment because he was so shitty live; well, when he actually sang live, he was shitty. Pretty spot on when he sang the latter part of 2006....never missed a beat.
