Daughtry best rock voice since Steve Perry...

I love Chris and think he sings his ass off. I do think he is one of the best voices I've heard in a long time, but I have to draw the line at comparing him to Steve Perry!

Luckily, he made it worth the while, possessing maybe the best rock singer's voice since Journey's Steve Perry. And when I say that, I refer to the ability not only to shriek, but to hit beautiful runs and pure notes that set your hair on fire.

I don't care for him much at all. Nothing special or unique about his voice.

To put him in the same league as Perry is ridiculous...

Even though Daughtry is a great talent, I'm sick of his shit already. Do you realize how many times he comes on when I'm at work? Every 10 min. That's like, 50 times a day. Or so it seems..

I like Chris very much but, like Barb, don't think he's in Steve Perry's league. I do think it cool that Steve is used as a standard of excellence for comparison purposes though.

He may have a good voice but I personally don’t like him. I have no problem with AI producing pop stars but rock stars just doesn’t work for me.

In my opinion, and I may be wrong, Bo Bice and especially Chris Daughtry are the true definition of corporate rock.

Luckily, he made it worth the while, possessing maybe the best rock singer's voice if Journey's Steve Perry would have never been born.

Now that's more like it.

If he can write,he'll stay around awhile. I am not sure writers will bring him many songs. I see him having small successes in country, but you won't see him selling out any stadiums EVER !

Completely and utterly insane comparison. He's ok and I dig the album, but he's just another modern rock singer with little range and no chance of making more than a few records at best.

I enjoy Daughtry. Love his album, has a great show. Hes not perry, but he IS better than most of these new bands coming along.

I thought he was better than Taylor Hicks. I have no idea how Taylor Hicks won AI. It's a ridiculous show anyway.

Daughtry is alright, but he isn't anywhere near as good as Perry was in his prime. He has a great voice, but I don't feel any emotion or warmth from him like I do when I listen to Perry's singing, or even Jeff. The group really chose wisely when they picked Jeff to join them. He brings a depth to the old songs that gives them a brand new feel, and you can tell how much he really loves what he does for a living when he's on stage. Didn't mean to get all fangirly on everyone (sorry, can't help it!)...its just an opinion, that's all.

Chris not winning AI is the reason I no longer watch
that damn show...

Chris has an awesome voice, but I'm not sure it's an even comparison to Steve Perry.

Chris Daughtry made a nice album, which is decent, but it's just one album! He's nowhere close to Perry and making such a comparison is ridiculous. If he becomes a successful songwriter, he may have a good career, but come on...

Thank you. Daughtry isn't even up to Daltry's standards. He's OK. I can name 50 better singers right now (still alive), and about 500 better songwriters.
