Journey - behind the tour

I stumbled on a very interesting article from February this year, about the graphics software that Journey used during the 2006 tour.
It's cool to have glimpse of what is technically going on on stage.

What I loved was this :"Not only does Journey's sound drive the graphics, but the audience reaction can trigger the images that illuminate the entire crowd."

I do remember watching that big screen and loving the way the music matched the visual show.
LOL,if the audience had a role in that, then I might be responsible for 2 images of the GGBridge during "Lights".. I screamed my head off when it started!

Hm....Seeing the name I typed for this thread...Wouldn't it be awesome if next year,Journey would put together a DVD in the vein of "Frontiers & Beyond",and show us fans how and what the new Journey will be doing on tour?
A good hour of backstage/rehearsal/bus footage ending with a live show just like F&B ended with that moster Philly concert!

Omg.I would buy such a DVD in a split second! :D

YES. I would buy that in a heartbeat. I love seeing backstage things like that. The Frontiers & Beyond documentary is a classic, but it's time for an on-the-road update.

Funny you should mention this about stage shows, I had a vision of thought on the way to work this morning, it happens now and again. My thought took me in this direction (after I was side tracked by a tasty bit of stuff in the car at the side of me at the traffic lights)

When the next album kicks in and they tour to promote it, they should introduce the 80's style laser show...the darkness on stage should give way to a scarab logo laser(lazer)thingy rotating out to the audience, then coming back into the stage, a massive explosion and Soto comes out of the dark like a raging tiger, with the words on the back screen saying Journey has evolved.

Um, no offense Larry but you live kind of in the middle of nowhere, nice town (not really) ...you need to get in your little car and drive a bit to a concert next time. Journey is not going to land in a feed lot. ** The screen saver deal has to go, next tour needs to be something really great.

They definately need to play up the stage show big time. No more just walking out on stage and starting the song. It needs to be something like back in the 80s when they would come up from under the stage or something like that. Anything but walking to the stage, waving and then starting the song. I do have a feeling the stage show will be pretty darn good for this tour in 2008.

They'll sure do something different on the 2008 tour, well, depending on who they tour with.On the 2006 tour Journey had to reduce their stage tactics because of Def Leppard, those guys had the better stage setting.

But if Journey will tour by themselves (which I hope),I guess the stage show will be indeed a SHOW. :)

If they did tour with another group who would be open for them in 2008? let's just hope its not Rock-N Roll Soldiers. :(
