What's the point of a "light" beer? Does anyone actually like this stuff? Do beer companies count on people being such alcoholics that they don't care what it tastes like?
Seriously, what is the point of a diet beer? I don't drink very often but when I do have a beer, I sure as hell don't want a diet beer. Give me something that has some body and taste to it.

You forgot "Liam does most of the time 'cause it's cheaper and Liam's broke". I'm voting for mine.

I'll add that option...

I was going to add "I'm too poor to buy real beer"

Tell Andrew to kill this thread and start anew.

Coors Light, by the case lot. It ranked 4th by sales in 2003. Behind Bud, Bud light, and Miller light. That many people can't be wrong. Couldn't find newer data.

I drink Bud Light for several reasons:
1) It tastes good
2) "Light" beer has less alcohol per can...leaving me a bit more hydrated so I don't feel like someone dropped a sewer cap on my head in the morning.
3) I drink fairly fast after about 6. "Regular" beer has too much alcohol for my rate of consumption. Fights, blackouts and waking up next to girls that could make the Balk Talk calendar (and the weigh station off the highway) is now a thing of the past.
4) My gut went down 6 inches when I changed to light beer. I no longer have one actually. Can YOU say that, Mr. anti-"diet" beer?

Natural light is my broke beer. I drink that when I'm broke. It's like $6.45 a 12 pack at Walmart.

My gut has nothing to do with diet beer.

Haven't had a beer in months, but when I can resume it won't be with 'diet' beer. I like Sam Adams Ale.

I look at diet beer VS reg. beer like I do Sweet 'N' Low, and Reg. Sugar.
It's just not right.

Not a big beer drinker here, but when I do I like MGD, especially if it's really on draught (though it's not bad in the bottle). I actually prefer what my hubby refers to as "sissy drinks" where I can't taste the alcohol. I am especially fond of frozen drinks and my absolute favorite right now is an Outback Special called a Wallaby Darned, and it's best served "down under" (with an extra shot of peach schnapps on the top)

Man, I quit drinking 2 months ago for the gut and the pipes, and there are certain foods I just will not eat now without being able to wash it down with a beer, preferably a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or a Summer Wheat. No pussy beers for me...Well...No beer at all...for me...I guess....

dude,, the above is just embarrassing and shameful for a musican to say,
Especially a singer,, your supposed to drink and smoke during the shows and in between is just a given... your supposed to have a "guy/assistant" for pot and snow! by the end of your sets your supposed to be using the mic stand to balance yourself and by 45 tell folks how good a singer you were in the 80's...
