"In the wake of the hysteria over the finale of The Sopranos, he's intrigued by the idea of a Journey Unplugged.

"You want someone with catalog who's never done this before," he says. "Some hard-rock bands doing acoustic songs really work well. Some don't."

That Soprano's ending might have been huge for Journey, if they would have been in the position to seize the moment. That's a shame.

Oh, it might still be, if they find themselves a Perry sound-a-like and continue milking that golden goose.

It's all they can do, since the well of creativity has run dry.

....and what the hell are you gonna use for the effing LEAD SINGER....

...a "hologram" of Steve Perry, like they did with Elvis for Celine Dion?!

Not if they can squeeze a buck out of it.

Pressure is on, live TV...pays to have a singer with 20 years experience in all kinds of pro situations in case
something goes wrong...can land on his feet...a good youthful rock star look for MTV...a chance for a new
generation to actually stop laughing and appreciate....

Ahh forget it. Too late.

Ding ding.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb really blew this one. Jeff was made for these kind of situations. Just think...after the exposure of being on MTV/VH-1, Neal would have had a new generation of young, nubile ladies in which to marry and divorce.

Unplugged is not live on TV. They definitely play live with the audience but they sometimes do multiple takes and air the best cuts.

No. If they get Perry to do this with Neal and Jon it could happen. It is not too late! they wouldn't have to sing all the high stuff, just a few tunes and take the best edits.....

hey, it's better to burn out than fade away.... 8)

Well, IF Perry WERE in the group, then of course, but knowing that wasn't a scenerio is were I was coming from.
I also meant that off all times, there have been so many opportunities for this to happen, and NOW someone big makes this comment?
Let's play this one like it is, without Perry in the scenerio, then see what thoughts are about past and NOW possiblities.
I can only deal with this one in the current situation of the band and how many cool past opportunities were lost on this one.

Definitely too late. Like Nora asks, "who's gonna sing?"
