I thought this part was especially telling:

During the Journey tour a couple of months ago, I was so sick, had a 100 degrees fever and my throat was devastated for days. I just muttered about my situation to the other guys and what I got back was something like OK you’re going on regularly and you do what you do at your best and make sure no-one notices. What could I do? I played along for 2 hours and 15 minutes and I pushed myself so hard for the audience not to tell that for the three following days I didn’t even say one word plus the strong antibiotics that I had to take. All this made me feel like a dead dog.

hmmm anyone think this is the first time they've treated a lead singer this way?

I just skimmed through the interview and must've missed that part. Doesn't surprise me. No frickin' wonder Augeri had such bad vocal problems.

If I were Augeri, I would've taken a pair of wire cutters to the strings on all of Neal's guitars right before a show and see how well he handled the situation.

Morons.

The words scum-bags comes to mind. I hope to hell Jeremey is reading this and re-evaluating his priorities and what shape his voice will be in to CONTINUE his career, once Journey hires him then pitches him out like yesterday's garbage.

Frig and Fro are so dependent of that level of cash coming in that they'll burn any singer that won't give up his voice, his integrity and his creative aspirations. I say screw them. No more concerts or CD's to support how SHITTY they treat people.

Jeff says the interview is bogus, maybe the link to the interview should be removed?

It's in the Melodic Briefs on the main page - or here http://www.rockpages.gr/interviews2/Talisman2007-eng.htm. However, after Jeff confirming that the details are inaccurate Andrew may well amend or remove the article soon.

A similar situation happened to Augeri as well.
