When will there be an offical announcement from Journey on who the new lead singer of Journey will be?

Does anyone have any idea when or a timeframe?

Yup, there has been no indication that there was an "open" tryout.

Jeremey is the only one that has been looked at for all we know, it may have been, and probably was a formality.

They probably had this on the burner for a while now.

Come on now NIG. No offense, but youre startin to sound like BT-er's 6 months ago when we all knew that Jeff was the singer, yet they kept asking for proof and official statement.
At this point, they would be dumb not to go with Jeremey. He is a great singer and a great guy. The only way they can save themsleves is by having Jeremey abord. Granted they screwed up big time when they got rid of Jeff. But if they want to go back to singing classics & dirty dozens, Jeremey is their winning ticket.

So for Journey's sake, to redeem itself, its good if they choose Jeremey. but in the long run, I think its going to hurt Jeremey when he gets the special F&F treatment, even though by then he has managed to gain some more fans.

I dont think Jeremey's dream consists of jamming with oldies. its just on his path to his real dream: getting his name established as a great singer that he is.
If one just dreams of singing for a 30 year old band on its way out, I dont think its good dreams and goals to start with.It'd be completely different if there were plans for new material, but this isnt the case as we know it right now.
The best that may come out of this is when (not if) Jeremey get his own deal going after the publicity he gets from singing for Journey.

Dream come horribly true for fans....unless Perry gets a fire cracker up his ass, Journey are a fuckin' 3rd rate lost band..and Jeremey is a third rate replacement...and he knows it. Money is the only draw here...fuckin'pathetic. At least with Jeff, he has the credentials to continue his career to a higher level than Journey ever did....you watch in 20 years time, he'll will be a household name and still connecting with the fans......and we'll all be saying remember when Jeff sang for that shit hole of band called Journey

Journey doesn't need to make a quick decision since they aren't planning on stepping on another stage until 2008, so they'll probably wait out the summer and make a choice in the fall or early winter. That's nothing but a guess on my part, but seems logical to me. They may announce it tomorrow..lol
