The owners of a rock shop, called "RetroActive", had the pleasure to see SP walking into their store (June,19).It's a cool story. :D

"I was called to the register because a customer asked to see the manager, the customer was Steve Perry. I was able to give him the info he needed and in return I got hugs, handshakes and autographs from my favorite singer of all time. When we had finally calmed down from the excitement of meeting him, he was back!!! So we did some more chatting, and even thru out our theory ( & hope) that Journey had let Jeff Scott Soto go in anticipation of the 30th anniversary of Steve's joining the band, and there would be a reunion tour. Not coincidentally, two days after being in the store, Steve issued a statement on Fan Asylum, that the rumor that he was getting back with Journey was not true!! But, he did thank us for our faithfulness. And he is more than welcome to it.

He couldn't have been nicer. He was with friends, but took the time to talk to us and autographed whatever we wanted."

The complete story is in the store's newsletter and on the owner's Myspace blog.

Thats too funny, I just got back from Myrtle Beach last night. I spent the past week there with the wife and kids. I actually walked into that place a few days ago and looked around. Saw a few journey and VH tee shirts that were way too expensive to ever consider purchasing...but it was a cute shop nonetheless.

LOL....I can get away with it...the day before I was in the 'cute shop', I sucked down 13 beers on True Blue golf course and shot a real cheesy pickup line at the beer cart girl. The day after walking into the shop, I sucked down 11 beers on Wilbrook Plantation golf course and passed the same cheesy line to the beer girl there. My manhood card had some extra points on it...

I would geek out as well. I've met so many other rockstars...no geek effect at all. Perry would turn me into water in a nanosecond. What IS it with that guy... geez!

We stayed in the Carrivelle (sp?) Hotel, and it was a blast. I wore my Arrival Tour shirt and the "Vacations Over" Tour in 98-99. I got LOTS and LOTS of compliments on them too. Tons of Journey fans.

I am very curious about the t-shirts he bought. I wish I still had mine. But I wore them out. I never see them around here. Maybe I can email them. Almost forgot to say thank you Laura. I love to read articles about him that make me smile during the entire read. :D
