FTLOSM tour... I have a boot of this somewhere. No discourse here. I love the man. :D

See that with Perry's voice relatively intact? Sure.

But if everything is detuned or rephrased doesn't sound right, absolutely not. I've seen enough over the past few years (the past year alone - Styx, DDY, the Police, Genesis) where in some cases, the singers altered phrases to get the song delivered. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't (good example "Don't Stand So Close To Me"). In other cases, keys are lowered. Again, in some cases it works ("Circumstances"), and in others, not ("Mama" - it lost the power).

It's a tough call here. As much as I think people want to see Perry back, would you want to see it if he's a shadow of his former self live?

Yes...cuz I never saw him.

Do the Brian Wilson thing...get a nails band...and some great back up singers....and let Steve do what he can do.....and he has way more in the tank than Brian vocally...plus...he can feed off the adulation he will get from the masses....it CAN be magic...and I would pay high dollar to see it.

I'd buy a ticket to see him walk out on stage, wipe his ass, and scream like a wildebeest. Cause it's the closest I'll ever get to seeing him live. Don't care how he sounds now. Its the nostalgia of it all.

I seem to be experiencing many SP vids lately. I'm not sure how to take this anymore.

Should I be happy? Well, I like the old vids..

Should I expect to see SP back in 08? If not, why all the SP vids? Is it over?

I can't imagine seeing all these vids lately and seeing anyone other than SP fronting the band again. EVER. Anybody less would be a full on shit attempt at being Journey as they were.. back in the 80's

And, now that they gave JSS the finger and pink slip, all I can say is FUCK THE STUPID SHITS!

NOW.. if Perry is coming back, I might retract that last statement.

If it becomes "the Journey experience" a la the circus that was the Who in 1989, I'm not so sure how good it would be. While Roger's voice was better in 1989, I much more enjoy the Who now as a rock show, not an experience.

Hey, I was born after the biggest part of the heyday. The biggest thing in my life during the ROR tour was being potty trained. YEAH! I'm a loon when it comes to that!!

Hey, I have one month left (as of right now) to be 21. Then I turn 22, and what birthdays are left to look forward to after that?? 25? PSH. 30? Ooh! Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, after 21, we're all the same age.

Some just have more experience.

Well, alright, I could accept that for the closer before the encore, but still I must insist he at least sing something.

No, hun, I'll be 22 come October. Gah, neither one of us should be up late trying to talk. Haha! My 22nd is August 23rd.
But that doesn't have any bearing on drinking in SB. Hells yea! Liam's gonna have to pull through for us on all these drinks he's 'creating'.

I'm on a grand jury tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous about it, so I'm having a hard time sleeping. Not to mention I'm still pretty wired over the sleepover my daughter had last night...4 whiny 7-year-olds...they drove me BATTY!!!! I'd rather have 12 loud-mouthed 15-year-old boys!!! :x

I would love to see him again. I feel very fortunate that I saw him as many times as I did. So I have those memories. I am sorry for those of you that never got to see him. I don't know, maybe it was just me but when Journey came to Houston for a concert it was a major big thing where I came from. We were there ever single time they were. At least when SP was singing with them. It seemed to me that it was a special relationship we had with them and really more SP than any of the rest of the band. But he seemed to have as good a time with us as we had with him. It was almost like he came to see us as much as we were there to see him. And I am not the only one that felt that way. I think everybody left feeling that way. Show me another frontman that made the fans feel that way. But that is what made them more special than any other band I saw in concert. He was not only a great singer but a great personality. I will never forget the feeling I got from those concerts. I just hope I get the chance one day to say thank you in person.
