Hugo should play HIS stuff live

There were times in past I thought Hugo should be lead vox in Journey instead of Steve Augeri or JSS... Now I'm over it... I think Hugo has a talent for bigger things than just being tribute singer... there are so many gems on his albums and projects that he definetely must tour with his OWN songs... Hugo, forget Journey, forget Steve Perry - go your own way... and do it proudly.

Here is Hugo's discography, with links to reviews...

Wow some great research dude!
I am a big Hugo fan, and agree with you 100%.
I wish he could just get some radio play on an adult contemporary station, people would eat it up.
We should start up an online push to program directors!

Thanks, man.
I felt that people should get more info about Hugo... Many people never bother to learn more about his own work and mock him for being Journey tribute vox...

Speaking about his albums, I managed to get my hands on everything except his third solo album, Fire In The Night, and original Valentine cd (have a burned copy, though)... Can't wait to hear new album which Hugo is making in collaboration with legendary Josh Ramos (The Storm, Two Fires, Robert Fleischman, Hardline, Ramos...) and this site regular, Eric Ragno.

Maro!!! Thank you for the discography! "Fire in the Night" is absolutely stunning. So stunning, in fact, that it is now missing from my collection (hmm....). I bought my copy from Hugo's site (or a link from there) - I have to go see if I can find it.

Found these on eBay

Actually, I know that he was selling it thru his website... but I missed it...

There were two links to Hugo's sites:
http://www.hugomusic.net/ and http://www.hugothisway.com/

Both are down for long time...

I got "Fire in the Night" through the journeyshow.com web site. I filled out the booking form and ask if they could sell me the CD, and they did, there are some awesome tracks on there, you should go and ask them, I am sure they can get you one.

Maro,

I couldn't agree more with you comments. Hugo is a great talent and should be doing his own thing. I still say his shit is better than anything Journey has done since 83. I'd put Valentine up against Escape for that matter.

Aaron

I haven't heard it, either, but the comment does appear to be pretty outlandish regardless.

Dave,

At least your honest. I'll send you a copy if you like and you can decide. I'll stand by what I said. My kid is a big MR fan and a huge Journey fan. He thinks Valentine is better as well so who knows. If nothing else, I'll bring a copy of Valentine to SB for you.

I got told to fuck off somewhere, but now I can't find the post. But yes, I've heard it, and I remember it, Hugo and Valentine were great. I think Hugo has great talent. But Journey is my favorite band and Escape is my favorite album, so I'm sorry if I offended you, but I just thought it was funny.

Journey is my favorite band as well but Valentine is my favorite cd and my second favorite band. Escape would make my top 5 list though but I tend to favor the first 3 Journey cd's. No offense taken. Thanks for your note mate.

Couldn't agree more. Hugo should drop the Perry stage act and tour his own music. He has a large enough catalogue to do an entire show. I'd buy that ticket.

Maro, do you have the Avalon album? If so, could you post some samples off the hugo tracks? I'd like to hear them before I opt to buy the whole album for a couple of tracks.
