I know journey auditioned him before hiring Steve A but, he is not with a band right now as Royal hunt has disbanded.

Royal Hunt had not disbanded. They are getting ready to select their new singer for their new material.
John West , being a kick ass singer that he is, would be too good for the new Journey.
Besides, we already know who they have picked, so why keep on goin on suggesting and guessing!?

I don't think anyone knows for sure what these guys are gonna do next.
