I love that record so much. And the guitarist he got on that record, you could tell he spun a few Journey records in his time. This is just a great album, and it washed out all the bad "pop" memories of his first solo.

I think FTLOSM has more consistently written songs than Trial by Fire. TBF had more peaks and valleys. I could listen to this (almost) from start to finish without pressing the skip button.

Man,

I cannot express how much I miss Steve Perry.

I DO NOT want to see him back in Journey, but I do miss him.

"....I just had to stop for ME...y'know? I had to find out if I loved singing - 'cause I had worked so hard for so long."

...and there it is.

To me, the above says that he stopped because he was no longer "just Steve, a guy who can sing"....he became Steve Perry, Inc.

"...worked so hard for so long." - he should've added "...for other people".

But that's just my take.....sigh....

If you're doing what you're BORN to do - but end up feeling like a work-horse in a harness...that's gotta MAJORLY suck!!

Oh please Nora. He "worked so hard?" Gimme a break. Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams and Jeff Scott Soto work hard. Hell, they are still working hard. Jeff never takes a day off and look at Springsteen. His accomplishments dwarf Journey and Steve and yet he still has that fire in his belly and he truly loves his fans, to continually put out new music. Bruce doesn't pay lip service; He actually does care about his fans and rewards them with new music every year or two, unlike Perry or Journey, who throw scraps out onto the floor and call it "good." Steve hasn't done a damn thing in music for 11 years and Journey....they should have done nothing, rather than put the crap out that they did. To Hell with them. Look outside the window for a minute....Journey and all things associated with it are not worth fighting for. Want fan envy? Look at Bruce Springsteen or even Bryan Adams. Those guys get it. They get it that their fans are worth the effort to make music and quality music at that.

I can't wait til Friga meets Satan at Hell's doorstep. To be a fly on the wall then would be priceless.

Journey did some pretty heavy touring back in the day tho to be fair - and much as i like Bryan Adams - seen him 7-8 times - he has put some serious shit out there - cloud number 9 anyone - duets with a Spice Girl? - having said that - anytime i'm in a club you can see the energy levels go thru the roof when Summer of 69 comes on..........
