"Why?"

I've been playing this Satriani song a LOT lately and I didn't get why until a few minutes ago. Seemed like a pretty obvious thing to point out...but I'm still in the "tunnel vision" mode. So forgive me for being a dumbass on this one.
It's a REALLY fun song to play on guitar...but I realized that it's not just the question "Why", and Larry, Dave and the other Satch fans will get this when I say...it's the emotion speaking through the guitar. There's no real showboating on the song other than the solo...but that's kind of expected from Satch. But with my situation right this second...this song and "Clouds Race Across The Sky" are just PERFECT themes for trying times.

Anyway....sorry to bother y'all with this...I'm just thinking too damn much right now.

Got some bad news today too. :( Take care of yourself, music helps a lot. Most importantly, find your way to SB as we really don't know how long we're gonna be around and special times with friends and family are the best that life has to offer.

Sorry to hear you're got bad news today, bro. :-(
Apparently if I can just get to Nashville...I'll be fine. But, the main problem is affording everything. Hell...I won't even drink if I can just GET there. Well...that's pushin' it...I'll have to steal a beer or two.

Liam already knows that he's more than welcome to crash in my room, and I'll have more beer than Woodstock.

Well...to be honest...up until yesterday..I hadn't touched a guitar in about a week...so I was QUITE rusty. Still am.
I really need to get lighter strings on my Stratacoustic. I've got 12's on 'em right now and I'm used to 9's (for serious bending) and MAINLY 10's. In other words...OUCH.

To Dan....More that Woodstock???? Damn dude...if I get there we ARE gettin' fucked up aren't we.

Ha ha - years of trying to play Yngwie and the like mean i have to use 9s even on my acoustic - but i'm 40 - gettin old.....

Well...I've been most comfortable with 10's the past few years 'cause it actually feels like I'm TOUCHING a string. 9's are GREAT for high-end solos...but as far as rhythm...just too thin sounding for me. I like to hear some sort of crunch when I play. Might just be me, though.
