Ed, the great music that made us all Journey fans is still as great as it ever was. Now if you want to burn Arrival and Generations I'll send you the copies Dean gave me, but I can't part with my Perry/Journey stuff.

That would be stupid. I'll get on board if you're going to burn Schon & Cain in effigy, though, as long as you plan on doing some rude and crude things, voodoo-doll style, before you burn the bodies.

The true fans are the ones that won't tolerate what's been done to Journey. If you consider Neal and Jon to be Journey then I guess anything they want to do is acceptable as Journey to you.

I didn't become a fan of an entity with the name Journey just because it was called Journey. I became a fan of a specific sound created by the one and only Voice in combination with the other talents that were in the band at the time. I had no idea what any of the names were other than Steve Perry's.

I thought Augeri was an insult to the name. His voice was thin and shallow. From what I saw in the Free Per View, not only did his appearance not appeal to me at all, I also thought his performance on stage was embarassing.

When Jeff came along he not only punched the songs, he kicked ass with them all over the stage.

Arnel is nothing but another singer who has a high tenor voice that can reach the notes. If that's all the frontman of Journey needs to be to you then I guess you're happy.

I can sing a bit, but I can do stuff like Billy Joel, Foreigner, Gin Blossoms, Toad the Wet Sprocket. Journey is WAY out of my vocal range.

Still, I'd have more stage presence than ARnel

You are a fucking wackjob, you know that? You'll burn Arrival and Generations but not Perry stuff? Fuck you Sherrie. You Goddamned Loon.

Seriously, I think you are completely full of shit. Perry this and Perry that. Guess what? Neal and Jon are Journey, not perry. He chose to leave. They stayed. They are a couple assholes to be sure, but at least they aren't quitters.

You piss me off.

Come on, Deano. That was an entirely reasonable comment for Sherrie to make.

I'm with you on the Arnel issue though....

Any burning of Journey CD's or albums is meant in no way to disrespect Steve Perry. Would burning Frig and Fro solo (garbage) CD's be any better?

I am willing to take a shit on a picture of Cain or Schon and have it filmed.

Neal and Jon are Journey? That's 100% bullshit. Why do you hear and read about all these Perry reunion rumors every time Journey changes singers and why does everybody always compare the new guy to Perry when they hear him for the first time. Perry is and always be Journey whether you like it or not.

While I agree with your sentiment, I think Deano was saying that Neal and Jon are Journey because they continue the band. SP doesn't.

Part of thinks that SP made the right decision to bow out.

Dean, I've sat here and watched you trash Sherrie over and over again without speaking out, and frankly, I'm sick of it. She does not deserve your vicious attacks. So what if she, or anyone else here is a loon??? It takes all kinds, doesn't it? Niggy loves Neal, you love JSS, Stu loves Ross... how's it any different??? Why is that you can make comments about how great a particular member of the band is, but if someone else has a favorite, they are a 'loon' or a 'fawner', or hell, for that matter, a 'wiggler'. I recall one of the first things you ever said to me when we met at Ed's house... "I'm a Loon too".

I realize you aren't the only one to feel this way about "loons". Just lay off Sherrie...please.

OS, like the large majority of Journey fans, followed them because of Perry, another smaller faction follow Schon and rightfully so, both have contributed (in different ways) to the overall feel of the band. What goes on behind the scenes shouldn't distract from what Journey was...one of the best Rock bands to come out of America....an absolute megga beast of a band, with, I have to say the help of Cain and all the other merry men along the way. After Perry left, Journey didn't die, they had to regroup and continue as best they could......it's like the SF49'ers of old losing Montana mid season.....to the fans a fucking disaster but the team can't say - Oh fuck it, it's over they have to find a replacement and push on.

Trouble is no replacement will ever fit true with Journey, it can't because a certain person Steve Perry. Could you replace Jagger or Bono, no you could not, so the same is true with Journey, he has always owned that spot and no replacement, even JSS could have saved what was. Sure they could remodel the band but they could never bring it back to its prominence of the 80's. That's were we have to draw a line, Journey is not a tribute band it's a band trying to find its footing and no matter how hard it tries it's going to have the occasional stumble.

Personalities rule, Cain and Schon probably have their own agendas and possibly they never meet in the happy middle ground. So it's always going to be stalemate and the creativity suffers. It's easy to say they should have shut down in the 90's and all gone on to solo projects but again going back to the 49'ers, would an NFL team dispand because of one main player? So regardless of what was and what is, Journey still struggles on and probably will, for the remainder of its time and Schon and Cain have every right to do this. Not supporting is an option for everyone but what's the point...will it make you feel better, I doubt it!

Soto's well on his way now and it has to be said thanks to Journey (in a funny kinda way, I'll admit) Augeri, well I'm sure he'll also resurface with a solid album. Mr Perry is now out of the equation but one thing's for sure, he's always available on DVD and CD. So the likes of OS and myself always have that to fall back on.............a few beers and the Houston DVD makes for a happy few hours.

Arnel, what about him! Well he's just another spoke in the Journey wheel, he'll do one thing he loves and that's sing his heart out and as long as he's happy with that, there's no problem.............if you go expecting old Journey you're always gonna be slightly dissapointed, take it for what it is.........MUSIC, nothin' more, nothin less.
