IF journey did get back with perry and your the manager what would be your strategy as far as planning what the band would do?

me i would get them to do an unplugged to sort of get new and old fans alike reaquainted with the band and its music plus to get the band use to playing again.then i would plan a concert tour while they had unplugged out in the marketplace.then if the tour went well and i have them back in the studio recording a new album and then plan a tour to promote it.

are you listening irv azoff?

1) Pink slips to Neal, Jon and Deen. Nothing personal on Deen - fine drummer - but there's a better man for the job.
2) Hire Steve Smith.
3) Call Gregg Rolie but won't hold breath.
5) leave it Perry's call re: Ross*
*if Ross goes, I rehire Randy Jackson on the condition that he grows that funky hair back.
4) Begin auditions.

Not viable ! Perry signed off with some legal strings. So now Neal is able to fly that puppy into the ground at warp speed.

First off, I would "attempt" to get Smitty involved but, if he declined, Deen would be just fine.

I would start by getting them into a studio for a month or 2, let them feel eachother out and see if a few new tracks could be spawned.
Release a track as single, film a video and then try to work something out with VH1, where VH1 puts the video in heavy rotation and
also plugs the hell out of the NEXT step...

Plan an intimate performance in a smaller venue, performing the hits, possibly in an
acoustic/unplugged/toned-down format and film it to be exclusively premiered on VH1, along with a CD-release of the performance.
Let that hype build for a month or 2, see how the single does on the charts and then plan/announce a small tour throughout the country,
stopping at major markets and playing mid-sized venues, 15-20 dates. I would also want to keep shows 1-2 days apart in order to allow Perry
to maintain his vocal stamina and also to slowly ween his voice back into shape for a bigger tour to follow.

If a bigger tour is successful, talk the guys into wrting new material and releasing a new effort.
If not, talk the band into putting the Journey-machine in the garage for good, going out with some dignity.

Friga-Fired. Welcome back Greg Rolie.
Castronovo-Fired. Back to Wild Dogs motherfucker. Enter Steve Smith.
Valory-Stays. A regular guy who has done nothing but lay down awesome bass lines and do what he's told.
Schon-Stays. The heart of Journey, Perry being the soul.
Perry-What the fuck took you so long?

None of this is going to happen thanks to Mr. Schon, his 16 divorces, 38 kids (33 illegitimate), hair plugs, monthly botox injections, drinking problem and overall adolescent lifestyle. I would love to take a sledgehammer and beat "The Whale" until there wasn't a piece of fucking wood big enough to use as a toothpick. I'd love to duct tape Friga to a chair and make him watch.

I would have them do a small tour (20 to 25 shows, with at least 2 or 3 being in Canada :D .....shut up SJ  ). Then retire the Journey name with the dignity it deserves. The End. At the age of 60 they can then go on and do their own things from there.

40 cities in 120 days. No fucking around. Huge places and kick ass opening acts. Give the opener one hour and Journey 90-100 minutes. Separate tour buses so Steve doesn't catch one of Neal's airborne diseases, and to also ensure that Friga's pansiness isn't contagious. I've heard Friga doesn't douche.

If Townshend weren't practically deaf I'd give it to him (dude CAN still rock though!).
Maybe EVH if he can stay out of rehab long enough.

Neal stays under ALL circumstances. :x I'd go so far as to say that Perry wouldn't consider it Journey without Tattoo.

Omg my side hurts!

You just hit on the next ridiculous Journey swag item though - Journey toothpicks made from authentic "whale" parts.

Very true, though they probably can't even stand to be in the same room..................those 2 truly ARE the backbone of Journey.

Eddie Van Halen is as big of an egotist as Neal Schon. Same technical brilliance and musical ego, the difference being that I doubt EVH can exude the same emotion and heart into the solos as Schon (since he didn't come up with them) and I enjoy seeing Schon live.

I also don't agree with firing Cain. I enjoy new material from Journey, and I hate to tell you, but he's the best lyricist they've got. Perry/Schon is good, but you can't top Perry/Cain/Schon.

Oh yeah, as much as Fro acts like an idiot in his personal life, there isn't a guitarist who can touch him, IMO. One of the things I noticed off of Soul SirkUS was how Neal's guitar and Jeff's voice "interacted" - beautiful. Same thing with Perry.

I love his talent, but no mo money from this mama!

I'd ban the idiot stupid fucking MikeMarrs from any Journey board for starting all the shit about Steve Perry and the rest of us. I may even hunt him down and painfully make him suffer. Yes, I actually would make him suffer....He's a moron. He can't help it.

I admit that I would consider mass murder to see Soul SirkUS in concert. JSS did a helluva job with Journey, so I wonder what it would have been like to see him front a vehicle designed specifically for his voice. His finest audio moment was "Another World". Chillingly powerful. Neal had a nice solo there as well.

Would love to have seen SS in concert too. Never really noticed bass that much, but damn that Marco's smooth as buttah. Come on, come on there has to be a show that was filmed somewhere? Love this one..........there is a little horndoggie in us all.
